OK i have 1gb ram 1.83ghz centrino and x1600 why can i only play at like 20ish fps with med -high settings?and low settings i get like 40? But i can play bf 2142 no probs med-high?
Is it the way nfs carbon isbuilt or wat?
WIll more ram make it better?

There are 3 possible scenarios that i can think of. Which OS are you using? It's a bit vague with your info given.
1) You have not updated your drivers/ patched Need For Speed Carbon. Give it a try.
2) Any background tasks such as antivirus scanning/video encoding etc, pause /cancel them before playing.
3) Turn off compatibility mode.
1.83Ghz Centrino and 1GB ram with X1600 should allow Carbon to be playable imo.
edit - You might have turned your resolution too high. 800X600 will give you good FPS. -
ok have win xp and Catalyst 7.3
And this is demo but im buyingnfs carbon atm so what kind of patches are there?

Sometimes you get a demo not working but the proper game is fine, whilst other times you get it vice versa. Which is not very good at all...
