I don't know if this is a game issue or an Alienware M17x issue.
Anyways when ever I exit the game. EVERYTIME, the light that indicates my web cam is on is lit up. I have to open a web cam and then close it to turn the light off.

I ran malware bytes and Norton internet security 2009 and they came up with nothing but some *dangerous* cookies. (Insert laughter)

    Anyone else encounter something famailiar?

Happens to me as well. It's not a problem at all, just kinda annoying. Probably some kind of "webcam trigger" they forgot to remove.

On my m1730 it just flashes for a second when i quit the game.
Try ALT-F4, i do use it to exit the game. So far the webcam isnt stuck in operate mode.

My webcam light turns on when I play Bad Company 2 and Need for Speed Shift. Must be EA spying on me for marketing purposes!

It's a known issue, if it annoys you you can go to the settings where you can change your profile picture with the webcam and then leave without changing the picture by pressing ESC and the webcam is off like it should be.

Mine does this too...sometimes it just turns on for a second...other times it stays on!
I understand Need for Speed initiating the webcam..but it happens randomly at times while surfing the web too...and STAYS ON.. makes you wonder what's going on..

So seems like there's no solution up to now, heh?

This is so freakin' annoying, really!

I had to install the webcam software again (I removed it before) just to put the camera to work again and get rid of the light turned on after closing the game.

Where's the damn patch when you need it?!

There's no solution. I tried everything myself. Just place a piece of duct tape to prevent them from spying! (lol)
