I recently installed NFS MS about 6 days ago and I have reached the 6th blacklist member by playing for about an hour perday. The problem is that almost since the begining I have experienced keyboard trouble while I am in races and bounty runs. The arrowkeys lock up from time to time causing me to crash my car which has lead to being passed up by opponets and getting busted by the cops. I just was to know if it is a problem with the keyboard or with the game and can I fix it.

what do u mean lock up, i play the game for sometime on my laptop and I dont have any problem, except sometime sudden shutdown, mostly when I was busted.
Are you using laptop keyboard or external keyboard? -
I mean the game suddenly stops responding to the keyboard commands.
I am using my laptops keyboard.

Sounds like it might be a problem with your keyboard. Try going into the options menu and changing the keys to something else and see if that fixes it. That would mean it would be your arrow keys.
-
What keys would you recomend using? Its pretty hard to beat the arrow key positioning. If it is my keyboard, what should I do about it?

Use the left-handed keys (W,A,S and D) and see if that causes the same problem. Those should already be pre-programmed.
-
yeah, but S and D keys are being used as my shifter keys.

You can change the keys to anything you want. Whatever feels comfortable. And if it is indeed your keyboard, just call Dell and tell them. They should replace it.
-
Do you mean NFS MW? I had the same problem on my notebook, it turned out to just be my video drivers, after updating them and cleaning out all traces of the Omega ones, it played fine all the way til the end. Actively using ATI tool and playing NFS MW just made the game crash, after a while.
-
The arrow keys are comfortable. If I had a num pad then i could use that but I don't. I'll see if I can use some of the keys on the left hand side. If it is the keyboard, how long will it take dell to fix it? I can't afford to have it gone for long, In fact, untill Dec. 16, I can't afford to have it gone at all.
-
Sorry, typo. I meant to type NFS MW. Where can the drivers? Will going to update driver in the device manager do the trick or will I have to search the web for it?

Most likely you need to identify you graphics card and go over to the website and dowload them yourself.
I don't know but games like NFS tend to abuse keyboards more than any other I see. It must be that simualtion of speed and power where you think by pressing harder its going to effect the performance of the virtual vehicle. -
maybe it's the fact that you press too many keys at the same time?
-
I don't press hard on the keys(well, most of the time anyway(while attemping to get out of a cage of cops I sometimes can't help myself)). Is two keys too many. I tend to have the up arrow pressed and occasionally (when turning left or right) I press the left and right arrows.

Your supposed to be slamming on the gas while turning, IT'S NFS!!
What's your GPU? ATI 9xxx? Xxx? or 1xxx? Nvidia? GF 5xxx,6xxx,7xxx?
Link-> ATI drivers drivers only work on cards above Mobility 9550
Nvidia drivers only work for GF 7 series. -
I am constantly slamming the gas (just not slamming the buttons) but there are times when letting off the gas even for a second can improve your driving and increase chances of winning the race.
As for my GPU its an ATI Radeon Mobility 256mb x1400
