Hi
I would like to play NFS MW on my laptop with core duo 1,83+1gb+x1600 256 but ONLY when I will be able to play at native resolution (1280x768) with all settings on max + aa&af x4. Can this lappy runs this game with no problem at >30 fps?? If not - I will take X360 version.
-
I think so, i have a Asus s96j and it runs it fine at 1280x800. The only difference between the s96j and w3j is the w3j has 1 gig of ram less. So maybe that might cause an issue but probably not. i'm pretty sure the 7200RPM SATA HD has no effect either.
Regardless, if i had the choice i would get the xbox 360 version. -

I think you can answer that question yourself. Just go to the site, check the requirements...
If it sais minimum 128 MB FX 5200 then you can be sure you can play it great on a X1600 256 MB. Maybe its better to check the graphics card comparison before making a thread.

You know even recommended requitements don't gurante that game will run smoothly with settings I want. I know how well this card run benchmarks, but games are totally diffrent stuff. Ok, I guess I have to get copy of NFS and check it. Or maybe someone else have something to say?

I'd be interested to know how MW would perform on a x1400. I kinda like how it runs on my desktop FX5700U, but will be looking forward to it on my new T60 when it arrives in about 2 weeks time.
-
Yeah you can, l play on my desktop with a 6600GT (which isn't as good as a x1600) and at 1280 x 1024 everything near max l get 30-40 fps.
-
@ Unreal : but what about AA and AF ??

I would actually recommend the 360 version unless you absolutely must have a portable version of it. The 360 version is equivalent to the very best PC settings (in HDTV at least), you can play it on a much bigger screen, plus it it controls beautifully with the 360 controller.
I won't even mention the Acheivements
ps. Yes I have the 360 version, it kicks *** -
You know it's not a must, I want to have cool game on the go, but nothing with great, long plot like rpg's or rts or something, just to play when I want to relax for 30-60 minutes. I checked Tony Hawks American Wasteland but when I saw this game I remmoved it at once. And the next on the list (I have a list of games I want to play for PSP, PC and X360) is NFS MW. That's why I;m asking - I will buy X360 next month I hope and I will take PGR3 and Burnout3 so I think it's too much to take 3rd driving game at this console.
-
Hmm, in that case I'd give NFS:MW a whirl on your notebook. There really is no better racing game you can pick up and play on the go on the PC (on 4 wheels at least -- on 2 I'd go with MotoGP). Wish I could tell you about the performance, but maybe the 3dMark scores on this website can give you some idea.
-
My 3dmark score is 4700 for 06 and 2400 for 06 but that's not telling me anything at all
-
i run this game at full setting on mines and no problems with 30fps and with vsinc on no aa
-
I run at full settings on my 9300, full AA and AF enabled in the game, along with everything else, using nfsmwres to force 1440x900 resolution, and maintain over 25 fps at all time. And, well, you can see my 3DMark05 score in my profile: 400 points lower than yours. I an even play at 800x600, medium settings on my Compaq v2000z w/x200M. So yeah, I think you should be fine on a really high-end card like the x1600.
-
@ lowlymarine : that is exactly what I've wanted to hear
thx

You have a beast of a card thats OC as well, expect it to run more or less anything you throw at it expecially at your lappy's resolutions.

Anyone notice that it does not support widescreen resolution for the pc version?. whereas its in widscreen on the xbox 360. Good job EA

I hate these game-producers, they NEVER support widescreen. Only Valve and a few others support it.

What are you talking about, NFS SUPPORT widescreen. Check www.widescreengamingforum.com for details, almost every game can be played on widescreen.

Ok, I checked this title and I can say two things : on X1600 I can play with all settings on max. 1024x768, no problem. Second : this game sucks :] NFS:U2 was waaaay better.
