Hello,
I tried to play the new NFS most wanted on my laptop yesterday and i was disappointed with the performance![]()
I put all the settings on high in full HD resolution and the fps fluctuates a lot between 38-60. this is obviously not good for a racing game if you want a smooth experience. then I put all the settings to low and still have lot of fluctuations.
is there any way to lock down the fps? I don't mind playing at a lower fps, a constant 40 fps is a lot better than this horrible fluctuation....your help is appreciated![]()
SPECS:
CPU: 3720QM
GFX: GT 680M
Nvidia driver: 306.97

what graphics card
-
sorry...added specs now
-
are you on the latest beta drivers? Vsync on? well, no wonder, it was just being announced. it may just require some better drivers to work properly!
-
-
is there any way to lock down maximum fps of a game? if something like that exists, i can probably give it a try
-
I have exactly the same issue with a 7970m.
-
dunno.. usually there is an option for this the graphics menu. try downloading and installing the lates 310.33 beta drivers for you card from nvidia site and see how the game runs after this)
-
No fps lock settings ingame. You can edit the config file, but there's only a lockto30 option. Poor optimalization.
-
what is that tool called "nvidia something" ? i remember using a small tool in the past to add or remove graphic settings that are not available in-game. dammit...i forgot the name :confused2:
-
To set maximum limit for FPS, use Bandicam. It's primarily a video-capturing program but I use it for FPS limiting. Hope it helps.

I just had a few races and the performance is terrible on 7970m clevo 150EM with enduro, same old issue again. Fps in some nigt races are dropping down to 20 and lowering settings even to 1280x720 averithing low doesant improve them.

yep...as usual...DEVs giving the middle finger to PC users.. -
We will have to wait for a patch i guess
( and plz add more views, only outside and in front of the car is horrible ). -
-
It has to be either a driver issue or the game news some updates.
I have a Desktop 670 FTW and I get random stutters -
I grab this from another forum: Not even on a 3930k @ 4.7 with 680 4GB edition SLI can you achieve 60FPS on max settings.

this game is harsh on the gpu, my 7970m has to be at stock clocks otherwise the game crashes my pc, especially when burning the tires and creating many particles instant crash. Never had this much stress on the gpu till this game

The game is poorly optimized even the reviews says so.
-
I only played a little bit of it, but yes, a lot of framerate fluctuation. Is this game forcing DirectX 11 rendering?
-
Hardly the same with a 6770m. 100% of gpu usage. FPS heavy drops. Even in low settings. Mother of god...
-
UPDATE:
I played it again last night. the game is having trouble maintaining frame rates in the Urban settings when i am near a lot of buildings...if i drive out of the city in to the suburbs, i am getting a constant 60 fps on highest settings...but still...it is unplayable the fps goes down to 30-35 in the city...
FIX:
Thanks to rquinn19 for this fix.
"go to Documents>>Criterion Games>>MostWanted>>open the config file with notepad and change LockTo30=true"
doing this will lock down the frame-rate to 30 and also gets rid of the stutters, jerks and frame-rate spikes. This is not exactly a fix, but at-least i can play the game now without getting nauseous
I have already beat number 9 and 10 on the most wanted list..i am driving a Lamborghini Gallardo. the game looks really beautiful with high ambient occlusion and light scattering...but they got to fix the performance though

).. and GPU goes upto 68 C with 99% usage
after locking the fps to 30...the load and temps went down...i will definitely recommend doing this...you will get used the framerate after playing for 10-15 mins...apparently console versions also locked it down to 30...but PC users are getting more eye candy at the same framerate -

Playing on my desktop, this game doesn't stress my cpu or gpu. Cpu could simply be because it doesn't use cores, but my gpu never goes about 75% and bad framerates.
-
lock the fps to 30 in the config file and turn geometry detail and ambient occlusion all the way down. this give me a stutter free game.
-
Whatever you do it still feels like laggy mess of a game... -
Umm. No its not. Look at my previous post.

It's not locked by default and this is the problem. The FPS fluctuates from 10-60 on my rig. Lock it to 30 and no stutters at all.
-
Any chance i can run this on my system? I don't mind playing on minimum settings.

7970m CFX Catalyst 12.11Beta, FPS limited by Bandicam, solid 60 FPS at last!

great news, sponge_gto)

I'm surprised people are having so many issues with this game. I'm running it on max settings, 1920x1200 on my 680M with no lagging or stuttering. I'm running the latest stable 306 drivers, but I haven't checked the FPS which is what I'll do when I get home.

Having 301.42 drivers with GTX460m, i'm having extremely slow gaming experience ONLY with NFS MW such as dropping as low as 20 fps and most of the time 30 FPS. I have Asus G53JW. What the hell? What can i do?
Note: I'm using Full hd resolution and most of the details are set to low. -
Simple solution: Let´s play the NFS Most Wanted 2005......
-
I though the problems with this game was sorted with 1.4.0.0
