Hi guys as the title says, i'm kind of in between those two laptops,

which one would you choose, based on the GPU the msi is better, but the CPU ( Amd A10-5750) seems to be far worst than the i7 4700 that comes in the Sager.

I'm looking to play all the new games with good graphics, what would you choose?!?!

    Thanks for you help,
    Alex

Very difficult question in my opinion.
Because of the AMD APU its a weird situation: Sometimes it doesn`t bottleneck the 8970M and it will be miles ahead of the GTX 770M. Other games, the 770M will be ahead.

BF3/4 is very CPU heavy and the AMD APU is very weak in comparison to the Intel CPU. Go with Intel, and the Nvidia card and maybe upgrade the graphics card and CPU later to extend the gaming life of the laptop.

Avoid A10, it's not bad but with 7970m/8970m the bottleneck is terrible in some games.

I would go with Intel version + 8970m.

770m isn't bad but it's about 20% slower, but it'll play most games at max settings fine, something to consider if there's a difference in price.

the amd mobile cpus/apus are miles behind their intel counterpart. The new richland apu from amd is the equivalent of a mobile core i3 sandy bridge. Sure, it may be much cheaper, but at the same time if you're buying these laptops to play games and to use the gpu and cpu in conjunction with each other, then why sacrifice components vital to your needs?

Don`t look at the GTX 780M results. The morons at Anandtech tested it with a notebook with faulty cooling system.
But look at the Alienware M17x vs the MSI GX60 and you will see how terrible the AMD APU really is. They tested the newest games, included GRID 2

Bottom line is, amd makes decent products, but their mobile processors just aren't one of them.

It's not that the A10 is bad, it's just not good enough with a top end GPU. It's really more suited for the mid range. Why MSI persists with the GX series is beyond me, it's an unbalanced system.

The AMD CPU is not a high end part which does not really compete. I would opt for the 770m part most likely as long as it can withstand some overclocking. An overclocked 770m should be just slightly behind the AMD GPU when the system is not bottlenecked.

But to be honest, I would totally go for an I7+8970m or i7+780m, which I did :D haha.

Student shouldn't play games :p. The gx60 just not worth it at this price point. The starting price for last gen was like 999.

Is there a notebook with an i7+8970M? I thought they were all A10 at the moment.

I am also interested to see the 8970 with the i7 since I have to get a cheaper gaming laptop and the 780m is too expensive. MSILOVER did post some results with i7 cpus.

I think only sager/clevos from various resellers will come with the intel cpu and radeon gpu.
