What's the difference between these two?

Which one would be better in a laptop?

Sorry, title should be - NVIDIA - GTX vs FX Series

    the question should be....

    Which is best for gaming?
    - Geforce will usually win this since it has best performance/cost ratio .... especially when we are discussing high-end (256-bit memory interface) cards

Which is best for 3D work/editing/modeling/rendering?
    - Quadro will do best in OpenGL environments/apps for 3D work.... it can still game, but not worth it unless if you are doing 3D work.

Again, strictly speaking about high-end videocards.... Quadro's will have the price premium since they are ideal for professional 3D work for programs such as 3ds, Maya, SolidWorks, etc...

Everything Gophn stated is accurate ... but also to add something.

Quadro's and GeForce's can be identical in specs (or be equivalent to each other) ... it's the drivers that bring out the performance better of one of the other in their areas (3d programs such as Max, Maya, Autocad, etc ... for Quadros, and gaming for GeForce).
Nvidia is merely putting the price premium on the Quadros because large businesses would buy them for whatever price Nvidia puts as they use professional programs.
With the proper drivers though, a GeForce with same specs would perform very much like the Quadro or vice verse ... so the core difference is mostly down to the drivers if the specs are alike.

I think a comparison was done and it turned out GeForces and Quadros are identical cards with different drivers.

Nvidia would lose a large portion of their money if they created drivers that bring out the full OpenGL support along with standard operations in GeForce cards because they are far cheaper.
