Hi, all.
As far as I understand, the latest rumors are, that the next 13-inch Macbook Pros will use Sandy Bridge, which is supposed to have the performance of NVIDIA 320M. Add the fact that NVIDIA was actually banned from developing Intel chipsets f or the last 1,5-2 years (which is why the low-end macbooks are still penryn), so I guess, we won't see any successor to NVIDIA 320M.
Furthermore, if I understand it correctly, it's GMA HD 3000 that measures up to 320M. That chip is used in high-end Sandy Bridge only, and MacBook and MBP 13 aren't likely to have a higher end CPU. So they'll use a lower Intel IGP that is just the same as the 1st generation Core's Intel GMA HD.
Which brings me to the main question. Will NVIDIA 320M still be the fastest IGP on the laptop market?
Furthermore, how do the current IGPs compare to each other? I'm talking NVIDIA 320M, AMD 6310 (in Zacate) and Intel GMA HD series from Sandy Bridge here.

From what I remember, the GMA HD 3000 is the higher end SB graphics. The Macbook Will probably get the GMA HD 2000(or whatever).
I still think there's a chance the Macbook could get a 5xxm card. The 520m is around 20% faster than the 320m.
Maybe an underclocked 520m: NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M - Notebookcheck.net Tech
The TDP for the 320m is 11 watts, the 520m is at 17 watts. So with a slight underclock, it should be good. -
GT 520M is a dedicated card. Unless Apple wants to go all NVIDIA Optimus on 13 inch MBP, that's not going to happen, is it?

This is not how it works. All mobile Sandy Bridge processors are of the GMA 3000 variety -- the 2000 graphics is only in the desktop models. The only differences between them is that the max Turbo Boost is slightly lower in the OEM models and the clock speeds are significantly lower in the low-voltage ones.

I meant a chip based on the 520m.
Just like they have the 320m, and then the GT 320m. -
Notebookcheck is known to speculate. They made a valid assumption, but it turned out to be wrong.

Intel Core i3 Mobile Processor
Also, the 320M is based on the GT 335M, but it really doesn't matter at this point since everything is pointing to all MBPs using SB, which means there won't be a "520M" or whatever. -
Aw, thats too bad, the HD 3000 will be barely able to play CoD BO on low. My 320m could run it on medium.
I need to stop trying to answer GPU speculation questions

I've heard that rumor for several iterations of their product now. Not saying it *wont* happen, but I definitely stock no weight in such a rumor. Of course, it doesn't really even matter, so... -
So they'll be priced even higher now right?
NVIDIA 320m is still the fastest mobile IGP?
