Firstly, iam sorry if this has been said here, as I cant find it after browsing some pages.

I just want to know, a quick answer from you guys,
    1. whats your temperature when running common activities like browsing, listening to music, messenger? because mine is always at 65c ~ 67c.

    2. whats your peak temperature running games for example? mine running at 96c peak, which consider very high.

i just wondering if it just me, or is the card behave like this? if possible i would like to hear some suggestion from you guys. btw, im using vaio z and notepal infinity as notebook cooler.

thanks for your time reading this thread, much appreaciate.

Wow! You got a high temperature. When browsing and text documents my card gets 54-61c and when gaming it gets 71-80c (maybe a little higher).

I don't think you have a defective card but you have a bad cooling system in your laptop :)

Do you notice any downclocking when reaching THAT high temperatures?

sorry for my lack understanding, you mean any bad performance when gaming during that peak temperatuire (by your meaning of downclocking)? no i dont have any bad performance, game running just fine, but, the inner of notebook gets hots tho..

i see, so the cooling then..i cant do anything anymore.

Have you tried to clean your fan(s)?
It can also depends on driver. The new nVidia drivers a little bit hot. I have reached 97C. But usually it is at 87C MAX! With the driver I used before this (185.85 DOX) was 80C.

However, try to clean your lappy... :)

I'm sorry you didn't understand, I wrote my answer too fast.

It's good to hear you don't notice any performance change when your 9300m GS gets hot, because when I had NVIDA GeForce 9700 it began to downclock itself when reaching 90c.

Now I have the 9300m gs and I'm very happy with it's performance in games :)

What driver are you using for your GPU? I'm using the newest one from Nvidia.com

Well, they're a little above normal, but nothing to worry about.

Have you considered undervolting your processor? That usually helps keep other components a little cooler too. :)

    its new notebook anyway.
i havent done any undervolting task to the cpu yet, it just what it come from the manufacture.

the temp somehow sits at 65c ~ 68c as im writing and browsing the sites (i just now swiitch to nvidia gpu from intel.)

    Just to make it clear.

It's normal for laptops to get hot. As I said before I guess my laptop has a little better cooling system than yours. But as long you don't begin to lag due overheat there is nothing to worry about. I have heard that temperatures above 85C can reduce the GPU's life time though..

not really doing gaming, just more into online gaming actually. if im using nvidia gpu mode, its usually around 2 to 3 hours gaming, moreorless. as for online gaming, the intel hd4500 is sufficient enough to manage the graphic demand.

temp when running this demanded gpu game, ranging around 90 ~ 97 at most.

i see, so playing for long hours for that temp is bad. i also run gpuz and log the temp progress, the peak temperature isnt permanently there, there is high and low temp while running the game. but still im concern that this high temp might spoil the gpu sooner, and im kinda paranoid when it come with nvidia, since their last 8 series card fail miserably.

Well, make sure you don't put your laptop over your bed or any cloth-like things unless you elevate it.. I once left my laptop sitting over my bed and when I returned idle temps spiked to 90C..

Idle for mine is like at 48-50C, and when I game the highest it got to was about 67C, since I use a notebook cooling pad and there's always a fan beside me. :D nevertheless if you could open up your laptop then maybe you could clean out the fans and stuff, that might help. :D

Try undervolting. It did a great job on my Z. My idle temps for GPU stay at 46-54. Max When playing X-Men Origins: Wolverine is 82. I don't use a cooling pad btw. My driver is 185.85 dox on a 64-bit system. Give me a PM if you need any help.

Sorry to bump such an old thread - new member here, so I can't PM. May I know how do you UV a 9300M GS? I have a 9300M GS, idling at 75c (!), using Dox drivers, 185.85, x64 Win7.

It keeps shutting down itself when I'm playing games.. probably around 89 degrees or so. Anyway to lower the temperature?

    1. Blow the dust out of your vents using compressed air.
    2. Use the Undervolting guide to undervolt your CPU... forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=235824....
    3. Download NVDIA 195.62 drivers and use the following riva tuner tweak...

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=456313

This should drop your temps by 10-20C for CPU and GPU and u should play with no problems...
