Hey guys, I'm looking at two laptops that I want to get. I'm not planning to do hardcore gaming but I do plan on using the laptop as a secondary gaming machine. The two laptops have pretty similar configs except the graphics card is different. I know the amd 6770m is a little older but If I could get some feedback on which card is better it would be really helpful.

640m is far better 10-20% as it should take less power and perform better.

Oh nice I wasn't expecting the 640m to be better then the 6770m. What about the 512 mb gt 650m compared to the 1 gb gt 650m? Both are GDDR5. Would the extra 512 mb make a huge difference in gaming?

i think the extra half gig is worth it for a card as fast as the 650m, but nothing more is needed, especially if its low resolution.

I found on game-debate.com that 6770M is better than 640M ! I saw it on MAX PAYNE 3 requirements. How can i learn which one is better? I am aboyt to buy a laptop and i dont know which one to buy. I want the laptop to be able to play games even after some years from now. Even if its low resolution. For now i want the laptop to play the current games at medium or more.. ;)

There will be a couple of games for which the 6770m (or the weaker component in ANY comparison) will perform better. That being said, the "couple of games" does not apply to this comparison. It is true that the 6770m is better than the 640m in more than a few games but on the majority, the 640m does better. Plus, considering it is a newer card, there is probably more room to optimize performance and make it better.

I would suggest you get the 640m.
