Conisdering the M18X options include the 675M and 7970M but no 680M I think it's safe to say not.

I highly doubt it's for the laptop market, but who knows, I cannot confirm anything and nVidia has a record or surprising the customers from time to time (when no leaks are leaked :p)

It was rumored that the new Tegra for mobile devices was using kepler, was it not?

    Maybe it's related?

I doubt tesla will use current kepler in any form since its FP64 performance is 1/24th of its FP32 performance.

It can't be Tegra because it's a GeForce page. So it's a GeForce product.

I tried to hint out something to the representative from Dell. I think this announcement has something to do with Nvidia and Alienware cooperating on a new product, perhaps a notebook. Bill (the Dell rep) says we should wait for Tuesday for the announcement :)
Maybe its a new watercooled notebook GPU from Nvidia? Perhaps its a notebook? Perhaps its a desktop. I don`t know but somethings up :)

Ok yeah I totally agree, it's definitely something with Alienware, why the hell would you be able to see two screws on a picture? Those aren't screws :p

Maybe since Alienware discontinued the m11x line, it's something more portable. Like an ultra book form factor made for gaming... Just a thought.

Nvidia would not be announcing that, that would be alienware.

Nvidia wont personally massively promote one of their parters so they don't alienate the rest.

dude I am really sorry for you hating alienware BUT that is alienware logo, dreaming or not, I know what is in the back of my laptop right?

anyway, yeah I am also thinking some good announcement coming from Dell too, Bill has been talking a lot lately :) He always has something nice to say :)

also m17x-r4 released! hurray! :) but estimated delivery mid may :( also 7970m is cheaper than 675m, there is something funny about it.. dell is famous for making mistakes in configuration page and you get away with what you paid for, so I think buying an m17x-r4 w/ 7970m for just 1.7k is a no brainer, go for it people! :)

Yes, I've got mixed feelings too, the 690 is going to be released no matter what, there's just a question about getting the 670 released, need it for my desktop :D

    Hating alienware? Really?

When was the last time your alienware had an embossed nvidia logo on it with smatterings of alienware logos on it? It's two screws from a backplate.

You are setting yourself up for a huge disappointment when the launch the desktop GTX670 or 690 happens.

Here. I took the photo and placed it in photoshop for some adjustments to maybe see some things a bit more easily.

Those are definitely two dome-headed, slot(flat) screws. The reflected light on the darker image only made them look a lot like alien eyes.

For what it's worth I think that's two screws, probably mounting a large heatsink.
But if it turns out to be two Alienware logos I think it's the desktop refresh.

To show the duality of life. On one hand we are gamers, on the other we require portability. It really is deep thinking on Nvidia's part.

Yeah... from what I have read it seems to be the GTX 690. It's expected to be launched around May 5th. I am really waiting for the Nvidia competitor to 7870 (GTX 670) though. Hopefully it's out by mid may.

    1.7k if you want the 1600x900 screen. Add $150 for a 1920 x 1080 and tax and shipping...2k+... I'll wait for Sager's version for less than 1.5k

Click the link I posted. If that doesn't work, on that page click the twitch tv link.

The GTX 690 was just announced.

"GeForce Experience" was also announced which apparently chooses the best game settings based on your system and driver from its database. I'm not sure if it's for both desktop and laptop, though.
