3dmark06 is not the be all, end all of benchmarking. Also, from my experience it takes time for the driver to "warm up" to the system, and your score can rise hundreds of points. 1 run does not do testing justice.

Far Cry 2, DMC4, Crysis, Vantage... etc

    FarCry 2 Benchmark Tool:

    Code:
    185.68
    Average Framerate: 30.42

    186.03:
    Average Framerate: 28.59
Has only gone down a bit, it may be too early to tell if they are better.

Yes, there is also 7C diffrence between them. I try it with overclock now. 185.85 DOX crashed... Let's see how 186.03 do.

EDIT: This driver also crash with overclock, maybe it is becouse CrySis. I'm going to try it out with 3DMark06 now.

    186.03 and 185.85 which 1 is better?
I mean normal 186.03 and normal 185.85. Not DOX.

    I got 11 288 3DMarks (06) with 186.03.
My clocks are 585/920/1420, not compare this one with 11832 which is in sig, clocks are way higher.

If you have a 128-bit card or less, don't worry about updating for performance. You're already maxed out, so just find the coolest running driver and stick with it..

I look forward to installing this on the GTX 260M when I receive my notebook Thursday.

I feel like nothing change =.=...
    I tested 185.85 with 500/1000/430 and then 186.03 with 500/1000/430.
Both of them give me the same result.
The maximum temperature also same. 75C.

    Here is my results:

    185.85:

    3Dmark06: 1874 with a 9300m GS 71C hot

    186.03:

    3Dmark06: 1876 with a 9300m GS and it gets 72C hot

No big difference. What do you recommend? Switching back, or stick to the new? Personal I think it would be best to stick to the new because a lot of bugs are fixed.

    What do you think?

Maybe I will try to overclock my card a bit. 72C under preasure is really low. If I can overclock it so it goes to 80C under preasure, and I get better performance, it would be great :)

You can try it, but incrasting core/memory clock shader ect. won't effect temps. so much. My max temps. is always the same with and without overclock...

Ok, if I overclock, would it increase my FPS in games?

Good news! I got better Frames Per Second in Call of Duty 4! I was in a big map with 41 players with 1280 X 720 res, and I think I got an average on 35 :), thats good for my card. But it's been a while since i played CoD4, so I don't know if it improved THAT much.

Maybe it's just me :p I played for 30 minutes and my highest temperature was 75C.

Yep! My current overclock value for 9500M GS is 500/430/1000 and get maximum temperature 75C.
Last time, I had 523/450/1050 and I get maximum temperature 75C.
Because of my voltage intake and crashing of processor/motherboard so I switch it to lower clock value.

    Hmmm.

I get better FPS, but I notice a little more stuttering. It's like it freezing in a half second, and then run smooth again after that.

I can live with that, it's only every 10th minute or something like that.

I dont know whats wrong with my laptop. When I use 18x.xx series drivers, when I right click in the desktop, it takes like 6-7 seconds for the menu to appear. It doesnt happen with the 179.XX. Any facing similar issue?

Do u mean when you open up the Nvidia Control Panel via the desktop right click?
Or just ordinary right click on the desktop?
If it is just ordinary right click on the desktop, you experienced delay which mean your computer might no compatible with 18X.XX forceware(guess only).

Glad you got your laptop faster :)

One of my friends had that issue with right-click. He used XP, I re-installed OS for him and now it is fine. Also you can try to disable nVidia Control Panel shortcut from right-click menu, maybe that helps. If you think it is becouse the driver: give it a try.

i'm on my phone now :p. The max 3dMark06 I could reach was around 11200, at stable clocks.I will try more overclock tomorrow.
BTW: does any of you play GTA IV, if so can you post benchmarks? Any improvements?

This is the best answer I can write with my SonyEriccson P1i :D
