    Hi there

I need one of you experts to help me out!

Anyone know anything about this card? I have been searching the net for info and there is a distinct lack of it.

I know it is quite new but there seems to be confusion to whether this is a dedicated card or integrated.

If dedicated does anyone know how much RAM it has dedicated to it. I have seen somewhere that it has 559MB in total but how much of this is system ram?

Thinking of buying a HP with this card soon. Not a big gamer but need to find as much info as soon as possible.

    Many Thanks

This should be an integrated card like the 6150.

My guess would be its integrated and it will use system memory.

It will most likely be ok for older games at lower resolutions but for newer games (i.e. Bioshock) you probably won't be able to run.

It's actually a little complicated. The 7150m is considered to be in the Nvidia Geforce 8M series. It's built into the motherboard (integrated) of AMD based laptops (socket S1). It seems to be the replacement for the Go6150.

Ok - forgive this question then - Would this be as good as a 256MB dedicated card then if it can use 256MB without touching system RAM.

As I say, not a big gamer but would a low quality card affect display clarity and ability to run the aero graphics in Vista???

No! It is a common myth that the main performance factor is the amount of memory...clearly false. The core of the GPU is the most important part, and integrated cards really can't cut it for games. Aero would be fine, and no the GPU won't affect the display quality as that is a property of the LCD screen.

Nvidia/ATI integrated cards usually have 32-64MB of dedicated RAM and will complete to 256MB with the system's

Ok - Therefore this card would totally suck at playing any recent game even at low detail.

As I said I am not a big gamer but I would like to play Football Manager. Think this is called Worldwide Soccer Manager in the States.

It is not graphically intensive so would this card be ok?

Well, as a matter of fact, I've been playing Half Life 2 on 16:10 settings, with a res of 1200x800, with all char maxed out, and it is not playable, but if you put all preferences to standard, the gameplay is pretty good as perfect. As for Doom 3, It has some problems with shading and so on, but it's pretty ok, You can play it wit moderate to good graphics. Quake 4 Runs almost flawlessly, and as for other games as for Guild Wars, there's no matter to argue. WOW I've not been able to test it, but it theoretically HAS to do the job. In a few days I'll be trying Bioshock, because I hate when people just start talking around uff like "Oh, but it won't work with Bioshock". I rather test it and then talk, then just start talking.

Hey there buddies, I actually just bought an HP latop with this 7150M/630nforce nvidia card. I have tried it on guildwars and WoW. Guildwars Clocked around 20 - 40 fps with 1280 X 800 max resolution on a 15 inch HP laptop. And it varies on how u put ur video settings on. i had it on High performance. high textures, no shadows, medium everything. its pretty playable BUT, when u on some areas of PvE in guildwars, it lags like hell. But i always play HA which is PvP and i dont have any problems. it works great. AS FOR World of Warcraft. No issues at all but sometimes the FPS drops so low and gets back up asap. BUT its for you to find out how well it works on ur system.

It's integrated, so it will take some system memory. It'll handle basic gaming.

This card is garbage, had to mess around with bios to get it to run the simplest games. Does anyone know if a Pavilion dv 2000 series can be expanded with a new card?

Hey it is integrated, which means you can enjoy only the simple games. don't expect it to run like crysis. also it is probably better than the last generation like x200m or 6150. It looks like you have 7150M for dv 2000, which means integrated, and you know what that means if you searched around the forum.
    you can't upgrade integrated parts!

A while ago there was a good review of the card on this site when someone put it to the test. It ran DOOM 3 and FEAR on low settings. Still, if you plan on any gaming its better IMO to get a dedicated card, even if its a low-end one like a 8400M GS or a HD 2300.

http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=2775417. A complete review of The Nvidia 7150M Integrated video card.

I also have this video card on my HP laptop. I currently own the HP dv2740se series. http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pr...sku_id=0665000FS10097697&catid=&test_cookie=1
This video card is not great at all and this is also a 128Mb card. I can play counter-strike: Source on low graphics , etc which doesnt run smooth all the time. I can not seem to tweek it , to be able to play NHL08 on the PC. When i first switched it to 128mb, it ran games really fine. But this video card couldn't handle the load so it starts to give. I wouldn't recommend buying a laptop with this video card if u want to game.

Yeah, I was a bit dissapointed when I realised how unpowerful it was, but I was able to run Guild Wars maxed @1440x900 inc.4xAA, it jumped every now and again though.
If you want it for games then you will have to say goodbye to pretty graphics and hello to 640x480res. And make sure to keep you're drivers up to date for best performance. It really isn't a gaming card, but will do pretty much everything else you throw at it.

I still dont get why GW was able to run sooo well when Halo1 lagged at 800x600 is it mearly a because GW has a better engine?

If its a bad card, will it be able to support a game such as Age of Empires 3? Cause i got a dual AMD processor as well as plenty of RAm but the game is ridiculously slow and unplayable!!!!

Hi, i happen to have the 7150m :( and with vista it even struggles to play games such as h2 which as we know isnt exactly new. However it is more than capable to run vista and some older games.
