No you can't increase it, and there is absolutely no point in doing so.

Dedicated memory is built into the card, thus there is no way to increase it. Also, 1GB RAM for the Graphics card is more than enough, especially considering how the card isn't a high end card.

Memory means relatively little compared to the rest of the card, it could have 10GB of video memory and still not run much better. The rest of the card will need to be better.

Replace the laptop. Get something with a Radeon 58xx or similar. There are a couple of good cheap gaming notebooks floating around. Can't name any though. If you want any such information, post up a thread in the What notebook should I buy? forum.

The 330M, while decently powerful, is not powerful enough to run all games on high (something my card struggles with). I would suggest getting something with an i5/i7 processor and an ATi 5850/5870, if you want to get maximum game performance.

You have to keep in mind that the video ram on the gpu is often used as a gimmick by advertisers so they can lull buyers with big numbers, when in fact mid range solutions such as these would actually benefit more from having 256Mb of VRAM while high end solutions can efficiently use 512Mb or possibly more (due to higher bandwidth and more powerful components).

In short, they are making money off selling low powered tech and grossly misrepresenting the products.

If you want to be able to run games with maxed out details at very high resolutions as far as laptops are concerned, then you have to look into high-range laptops and gpu's.

The 330m is a mid-range solution and will be able to run most (but not all) modern games on relatively high details at a resolution of 1280x800 for example or possibly 1440x ...
