Hey everyone,
I found some new NVIDIA GeForce drivers, version 179.67 for Windows Vista. They originate from Microsoft Update and are compatible with just about every notebook GPU from GeForce 6 onwards due to the multiple INFs in the package. In case you're wondering, these drivers also contain support for desktop GeForce GPUs as well. Obviously, these drivers are WHQL Certified.

Good point. I am also interested in this if anyone has compared the two drivers. -
Would you care to tell how you got these drivers thru Windows Update?
-
I searched these drivers up on the Microsoft Update Catalog, located at http://catalog.update.microsoft.com. Once there, you can search for "NVIDIA" or a similar keyword, then sort by Last Updated. Once you add the drivers to the basket and start downloading, you can view the source of the download page to see the actual URLs of the driver packages.

Thank you

any release notes?
-
Since the v179.67 drivers are not being directly distributed by NVIDIA, no release notes are currently available. Sorry.

We'd have to see how these match up against DOX's latest?

This driver perfectly installed and working in my Sony FZ with 8400M GT.
-
I had to use the have disk method to get these drivers installed.
-
i don't care how ae these drivers installed
of course all of use should be able to install them , that's not a big achievement for nvidia
i just need to know how good they are
because honestly , all nvidia drivers , expecially for xp suck -
yea, especially at Crysis. I haven't gotten my laptop yet, but any clue that this driver update will already be pre-installed in the up-coming Sager NP5797??? It seems this is the only "official" driver that recognizes the GTX 280m.

even with rightmark cpu utility running and cutting my cpu to only 12x capacity, i still get a personal best for 3dmark06 - 4084. it also runs cooler than other drivers i've used
-
I'll say best driver I used so far !!
Thanks.
