    New drivers from Microsoft Update have been posted! These packages include the NV_WHQL.inf file, which includes support for all GeForce 6 through 400 series graphics cards (and Quadro equivalent), both desktop and notebook models.

    Unfortunately, NVIDIA graphics drivers that come from Microsoft don't have accompanying release notes. Release notes only seem to come with official NVIDIA driver releases.

    I am still using the last Microsoft WHQL GPU Drivers and they were the best beating out all of the others that I tested so I look forward to trying these ones out.

    You can find 198.05 WHQL directly from the Windows Update Catalog site. Just finished installing them myself, haven't tested them yet tho.

    That's not WHQL right? I mean the Nvidia 257.15 Mobility.

    Just tested the Forceware 198.01 WHQL, it works better than the Forceware 197.XX. Got about 100-150 points extra from 3DMark06 compared to Forceware 197.XX. This Driver is really good, it's on par(more or less) with Dox Driver and the Forceware 186.82(legendary driver LOL).

    Ok, installed these on HP HDX 8800GTS, T9300(2.5 ghz) CPU, and got 9655 3dMark06, the highest ever for me. OC'd @ 650/925/1650. Temps are less than 257.15, and FPS is up about 5-8 in DA:O and Borderlands. Colors look good, but the most vibrant set I have used remains 197.45...things just seem to jump off the screen at me with that driver, albeit with less performance.

    Yup, v198.05 is now up. I'll be creating a new thread shortly -- it also has the NV_WHQL.inf file for universal support GeForce 6 onwards. :)

    Right, v257.15 is currently a beta driver and is not WHQL certified.

    This thread makes me happy, so much testing to come... all MS update drivers have been very good for GTX260m, specially downclocking in idle and scores in benchmarks, ill start testing tomorrow... weird thing is 2 drivers so fast from MS.

    btw is there any need like the MS Update 197.45 to delete the ini file to install?

    Any link to dl just physx or do i have to dl and install the desktop drivers to install the physx?

    No need to delete the other INF before running setup.exe, at least for v198.01. :)

    As usual, after testing these Drivers prove to be the best ones for my laptop. No stuttering, great performance, downclocking works correctly. I have no idea why the best Drivers for me out of all are the Microsoft ones but I am not complaining.

    These drivers don't have have any OEM custom settings in their inf's. So they tend to be faster.
