    Hello,
Now that NVIDIA officially relaeased the GeForce GTX 280M gpu and some laptops start offering it as a single gpu configuration, I decided to start a thread where you can post any rumors or official anouncments for laptops which will offer this video card in SLI (dual gpu) mode enabled. Please only post news and updates for the 280M SLI configuration since there are other threads for the single gpu version. So far I haven't heard anything but if you have any info, please feel free to share it.
    Thank you.

Cizmo just announced the 18.4" QS18440 sporting dual GTX 280M, I don't know what barebone do they use (Cizmo uses Clevo barebones for the other models). Maybe the Clevo D900F?

    I guess you're way above average. :p

It's supposed to be a FX 3700m with higher clocks. And I think more shaders.

Actually, same 128 shaders, just higher clocks. It's based on the desktop 9800 GTX+ I think.

But in comparision, it is not scoring good. Here are the benchmarks:
    in comparison
Asus Eee PC 701 4G (RM miniBook) (min) 855
    ...
    Clevo mySN M570RU T9500, GeForce 8800M GTX 6668
    Dell Studio XPS 13 P9500, GeForce 9500M G 6680
    Clevo mySN M570RU T9300, GeForce 8800M GTX 6890
    Clevo M980NU X9100, GeForce GTX 280M 7203
    MSI Megabook GX620 P9500, GeForce 9600M GT 7358
    Clevo M860TU (9800M GT) P9500, GeForce 9800M GT 7387
    Alienware Area-51 m15x X9000, GeForce 8800M GTX 7669
    ...
    Alienware M17 (max) 8160

Seems like 8800m is the king right now!!

^lol no dude. Those results are bogus, and the 280M will crush the 9800M/8800M GTX easily.

    8800M = 96 shaders, 500/1250/800
    280M = 128 shaders, 585/1463/950

It's more than a simple rebadge because of the die shrink to 55nm. Even the 3700M is on 65nm.

Those are the results from NBR itself. Also if there is 8800m/9800m SLI and one GTX 280m then 8800 will beat the out of 280m.

I'm talking 1v1, where there's no competition between the two cards. We don't compare cards based on 3dmark round these here parts. I guarantee you the 280M would beat the 9800/8800 by 45% in Crysis Warhead benchmarks.

It would have been possible if 280m had 200+ shaders.
With 128 shaders, I dont think u gonna get 45%.
Thats like half of One card. Also when 280m will be out,it will expensive as helll to put SLI 280m so I guess people will normally put 1 280m rather than 2 280m.

That's vantage? Or 3dmark06? Because it's 3dmark06, those scores are way too low and ridiculously high for the XPS 13.

I thought so too, bur Sager's preorder for the 5797 w/ GTX 280M starts at $1692, so even at +$500-$600 for the second card, an SLI notebook could come in under $2500 depending on the CPU.

Well the GTX 280M is allegedly supposed to be significantly cheaper than what the 9800M GTX was, so maybe we'll need to hold off to see how all this turns out when all announced cards are available for purchase and comparison.

8800M GTX ain't crushing anybody anymore. It's just the drivers that's causing the weird bench scores. Same to the 4870 when it first came out. So don't go saying my 8800 is bigger than your GTX280 yet (or anymore).

Maybe you should visit the Sager/Clevo sub-forum. ;)

People, like myself, need really powerful mobile workstations in since we do not stay in place much and need the performance for our work and gaming. :)

14,500 with a T9900? So 2500 higher than the single 280M with same CPU. If it can overclock well with the QX9300, it should get 17-18k. That goes for the M17x and Clevo.

Even though this is highly random I don't care.

"Oh, no son... we're keeping this baby! It's so much faster than our old dell P4! Here's $500 and the old dell! Fix it up and enjoy!"

    hahaha

    Also reminds me of:

With her blistering 40 gigabits per second connection, Sigbritt Löthberg had the world's fastest internet connection - many thousands of times faster than the average residential link and the first time ever that a home user had experienced such a high speed.

So, after nine months with the ability to download a full high definition DVD in just two seconds or access 1,500 high definition HDTV channels simultaneously, how has Sigbritt's life changed?

Not much, according to Hafsteinn Jonsson, who is heading up the fibre network operation for Karlstad Stadsnät.

"She mostly used it to dry her laundry," he told The Local.

"It was a big bit of gear and it got pretty warm
    ."

FAIL! I would of bought as many servers with hundreds of Terabytes each and sucked in a nice portion of the internet :D

The Clevo W870CU only has 1 GTX280m. For UK Clevo retailers, try the Clevo guide. The two most common retailers would be Kobalt and Novatech.
