It never defaults to '0', if yours defaults to zero then there must be something wrong with the systems setup.
Maybe clean out your custom profiles or re-install your OC software/driver...
EVGA Precision and NVIDIA Inspector both work perfectly fine with setting temperature limits in Prema Mod vBIOS.
The vBIOS Mod always defaults to temperature limit.
If I would allow people to set the default to TDP and ignore the temperature, with a vBIOS like this that has throttle disabled, they could destroy their cards.
So it doesn't matter if we even use that check-box, it has no functionality at all, no need to even touch it.
Simply set your desired throttle temperature limit (92c-50c), hit apply and it will throttle exactly once your own custom temperature limit is breached.![]()

Something is messed up on that system (old files or different software in auto-start interfering), literally thousands are using the vBIOS without this problem...I tried but was unable to replicate the problem.Last edited: Jul 2, 2015

Over at rog.asus.com they seems to have fixed the problem and the beta BIOS that ASUS send to me didn't work.

@Xercaium - Does ur new laptop GL551JW have higher throttle temperature point? Im using UX501 but my laptop has prioritize temp set at 78C. Im planning flashing it to increasing the temp to 84C. Still wonder is it safe to work that way?

I longed returned that laptop 7 months ago, I'm now using Sager np8651/Clevo p650se and love it. I'm not sure about the UX501. There's always a risk when flashing.TomJGX likes this.
NVIDIA Inspector prioritize temperature keeps resetting
