    Hi Hrcko,

Oblivion works with all on max in widescreen, tells me my brother. So I guess older games should work too.

    Cheers,

    Ivan

    The reason:

The NVIDIA Quadro FX 1500M is an expensive, powerful professional video card optimized and certified for intenisive and demanding 3D design/modelling applications such as AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max, Maya etc.

However, you probably would be able to play any games on it.

So if this is basically built with the same core as GeForce Go 7900GS, shouldn't I be able to trick (read: flash the bios or something) the Catalyst drivers to think it is 7900GS, so I get driver optimizations for gaming?

And if there's any place, where they'd know more about Quadro -> GeForce flashing, I'd be delighted to know. So far no luck with google.

    I have a possibility to buy nw9440 cheap, that's why I'm asking.

As far as I know, the Quadro FX 1500M does have very good gaming performance and even outperforms the Go 7900 GS in synthetic benchmarks, so you really don't need to do that even if it's possible in my opinion.

I have the step up to your card, the fx 2500m and trust me anyone that says that either of these cards cant game does not know what they are talking about. Your card is about equal in performance to the 7900gs which is a beast of a card. The only game that for some reason does not work on these cards is Ford Racing 3. Everything else will work fine and give you great results.

I heard that Ford Racing 3 has problems on the 7900GS too, so it may be the new Forceware drivers or something, and not the card. Somebody a while back had the problem with an Inspiron E1705. See this.

As for the performance of the Quadro 1500M, it is very strong to say the least. It performs better than the 7900GS in synthetic benchmarks as stated earlier. Personally, I can say that I play every game I've tried at pretty much maximum settings at native res, and I never go below 25-30fps. And I only have 1GB of RAM.

And yes, the 1500M should be able to be flashed to a 7900GS. I know some guys over at www.notebookforums.com flashed the BIOS of their 2500M's to a 7900GTX. Check there and you'll probably find something.
