I'm looking to buy a Lenovo T61p, but I don't really know the graphics card. How powerful is the NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M (256MB Open GL)? I thought that Nvidia Quadros weren't really for gaming, but lately I have been told that the Quadro FX 570M (256MB) is quite powerful, and that it only differs from the 8600M in driver compatibility. I have even been told that the gaming graphics cards are actually hardware crippled versions of the Quadro, is this true? So, what kind of gaming performance can I expect to get from the Quadro FX 570M (256MB Open GL), and how does it compare to other graphics cards (8600M, 8700M, 8800M, etc)?

8600m GT is the simple answer. It actually has more hardware functionality than 8600m GT.

the same as 8600m gt gddr3 version... if you want to use quadro for gaming you might just use "tuned" drivers for its "home-market" sibling... quadro's drivers make it better at open gl software, which is not that widely used in games nowadays (you know, the DirectX9,10,10.1)... but development software engineers are just used to it, so most of the "workstation software" runs a tad better on the quadro than on the regular 8600m...

If I get the T61p with the Quadro FX 570M, will I be able to play Crysis, COD4, Oblivion, etc, at medium-high settings?
