Hello, Im on the way to get a laptop. Ive been reading a lot of threads for a while (and thanks God I was doubt about integrated graphics).
I will like to know how good is this NVIDIA Quadro NVS 300, its an 128 MB graphic card that came with the Toshiba Tecra A7-SP4032.
Im planning to do graphic design, and a lot of 3Ds Max and Luxology Modo.
By the way, Can I run 3D applications with and Integrated like the GMA950? Im making just stills, not 3D animation yet.
thanks
Ahmed

The nVidia Quadro NVS 300M is based on the nVidia Go 7600 card. Ths can be found in Meakers Graphics Chart:

If you scrool to the lower part, you can see the NVS 300M. It is a very good card for workshop work. Quadro cards are optimised for such use. Although, the 128 MB graphics memory is a bit less than normal, the card will perform very well. I'm not too sure of the GMA 950 in its ability to deal with stills. If it is still, however, it should be okay. I am not sure of this, though. Hope this helps. -
thanks for your help, but I'm not clear in something... what do you mean with Workshop Work? Should I go for this or for the GO 7600
Where can I get info about how can in enhance the performance for this Quadro, Do I need to update the drivers?
thanks -
I'm not sure what you will be doing on those cards but neither the Quadro NVS 300 nor the Gma 950 are meant for 3D modeling applications.
The Go 7600 is a regular gaming card but it would be a better choice. -
Quadro NVS cards are ment for 2D tasks, mostly business oriented. While I'm sure the NVS 300 is a decent performer close to the Go7600, the price and 3D optimized nature of the 7600 makes it a better choice as Dreamer said.

I've been reading on some forums and conclude that the render process on 3Ds Max has more to do with Processor and system memory than with the video card itself... anyway the only 15.4" laptop I can find in Panama (where Im living now) around $1550.00 is the Toshiba Tecra A7-SP4032. I saw an HP with the 7600 on it but its an 14" with 512 of RAM and costs more...

I just came from the store and the HP really is a 7200 ( there was a typo in the catalog).

is possible to mod an 7600go with 512mb ram to a quadro?
