I get a "GPU clock test failed" when increasing the core or memory slider by 1MHz. I increased the shader clock by 450 points and it allows that, but does not allow the core/mem to be increased. Optimal settings recommends I downgrade the core by 40 points -_-.

This is my newest M4400 laptop, I have another M4400 (same exact specs) which overclocks just fine on every slider.

    Whats going on ?

Who gives a crap if it's the same specs, it does that in xp, not in vista. Are you using xp on both or xp and vista?

See, like what I said, XP. It's an XP related issue, it doesnt happen in vista, so you're on your own.

Omfg I'm trying to say it works in XP as both my laptops are in XP and one of them successfully allows the overclock on all sliders.

Thanks, you've been a great help letting me know I'm on my own. Just stop replying, please.

I have the same problem in XP, it happens occasionally. So I cannot have my GPU´s overclocked at the start automatically. Only happens in XP on my XPS, not in Vista.

However uninstall System Tools and reinstall again, that´s how I do it. But it´s frustrating.

Yep, that solved it. Frustrating it is, but I just found out you can save profiles once you get a good overclock and when you try to load the profile it skips the clock test and doesn't fight with you so thats real good to know.

    Thanks for the help :D

It is dependent on the card. My 8800M GTS overclocks with NST, but not the 8800M GTX or 9800M GTX. If you can't overclock it via software, then a hard overclock is your only option.
