Hey all-
I have the latest forceware installed 175.70 (from laptopvideo2go). The nvidia control panel screen seems to list wrong info. It says the operating system is Longhorn (service pack 1). I know Vista was originally called Longhorn, but...
...I notice for DirectX it lists DirectX 8.1 and not DX 10 (which is what dxdiag tells me I am running).
It goes on to list that the bios is unavailable and that "Video: 0"
So I am tempted to just ignore what I'm seeing, but I am wondering if the nvidia control panel is forcing my card to use directx 8.1?? I run company of heroes and World in Conflict in DX 10 mode, so I'm thinking thats not the case. But I have seen other nvidia control panel pics online stating "DirectX 9 or greater" as their listing.

what are you talking about "no offense"
edit reinstasll the driver and see if it works
sorry for double posting -
If you can play any games that use DX10, then you have DX10.
If you can play any games that use DX9, then you have DX9.
If you can't play either of those, you'll know it. Because you'll have to go all the way back to games from around 1998 to find a game that'll work without DX9+ installed. -
I looked into the forceware driver and saw that it did not officially support the 8600 graphic card. by rolling back to the 175.12 (i think thats them) that officially supports the 8600's, the correct information is listed. I also noted that the nividia control panel that comes with the older driver is very different and allows me more control options on how my gfx card is used.

The control panel is different amongst drivers, yes, but they`re basically doing the same thing.
What exactly is the problem?
You have a 8600M right? that`s DX10 all day long.
NVIDIA control panel incorrectly lists directx 8.1?
