    I am getting a new Toshiba Laptop with a NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M GPU
(Specs in my sig) I got a good deal for this laptop at toshibadirect for only $781 and i want to know how good is this GPU for games like GTAIV, BC2, BF3, Mafia II, Crysis 2 since i couldnt find any info for this card on these forums. I dealt with running these games on low close to medium settings on my HD4570 and i want to know how good is this laptop for these games and overall?

its a solid card. will run just about every game on high settings on your laptop, and i even get solid performance when gaming on my 1920x1080 23" monitor.

right now playing borderlands and get 35-40 fps in the game at 1920x1080 on high with shaders turned off.

its not the biggest stick on the block by any means, but it packs decent punch for a mobile package

you can run games on low/medium with acceptable fps. dont count running new games on high.

the acer 3830tg im using on has one and i can play sc2 on medium with acceptable frames unless its a huge battle. it cant run deus ex even on medium without laggin to death.

I think those games are CPU dependent, i seen low end laptops run them on medium to high settings.

The only newest game i am looking forward to play is BF3, and my other games i listed can run on my HD4570 laptop low to medium settings

I have a laptop almost exactly like that. Check my Sig. It runs pretty nice for a mid range laptop. Check this page for reviews (they are mostly if not all 5/5 star reviews)

    Newegg.com - ASUS A53 Series A53SV-XN1 Notebook Intel Core i5 2410M(2.30GHz) 15.6" 6GB Memory DDR3 1333 750GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M

EDIT: Actually this laptop might even be better for a better price than your Toshiba. Maybe think about getting this one? I'm absolutely loving mine. 5 stars from me.

they must have really low fps expections because even with oc on 540m (800/1000) i still dotn find sc2 fps on lowest acceptable for laddering.

sc2 is very cpu heavy but at res like 19*12 the gpu should matter more

I've yet to try the first Crysis and GTA IV on my laptop (and make a video on the channel as well). How about the performances on GTA4?

i guess if you're cool with playing at sub 30fps it would be fine. just like another guy playing crysis 2 on 15fps and calling it super smooth

Not bad it was mostly at 25-35 fps with high textures and medium shadows but lowering the textures to medium and turning off shadows will help you gain performance

Its still not bad for a mid range card handing the 2 most demanding games on the market at near high settings at 25-35fps after messing with the settings. Its still very playable unless you expect it to do the same job as a quad core cpu with a high end gpu

    its a good card.
    Not close to the best.
    but its good.
Medium low for most games, mostly medium
hope a good cpu is going along with it
