    Hi,

I've got Vista x64 installed on a Gateway 6831FX. Under 32 bit, I can use nTune to overclock from 500/799 to 625/900 with no problems, and it seems stable.

With x64, RivaTuner's drivers don't seem to load, even if I turn off driver checking or sign the driver myself (I'm a developer, so I have a code signing certificate). nTune installs fine and loads fine until I accept the user agreement to overclock. Once I do that, and try to overclock, I get a BSOD in the nvidia overclocking driver nvoclk64.sys.

Has anyone successfully overclocked in 64 bit Vista? If so, please share how.

If this is general question regarding Vista x64 and overclocking any Nvidia card, yes, my 8800GT overclocks nicely in my Vista x64 desktop machine.

I think when Rivatuner gets updated next, 8800m GTS will be supported. Until then you are stuck with ntune.

Regarding overclocking your FX's GPU, I don't think its really worth it considering only Crysis runs like dog like almost every other laptop and desktop. To gain 1-2fps in Crysis in risk of overheating your FX isn't worth it imho.

What drivers do you use and what overclocking software? About the 6831, it seems to add a good 4-5 fps in crysis on my config, which makes it very nicely playable at around 25-40 fps with all high, and shadows/shaders on medium.

Also, the OC'ing only caused the temps to go up by 3-4 degrees in 3dmark06.

For my Vista x64 desktop machine, I use Rivatuner.

For the FX, only ntune seems to be able to OC the GPU.
