I'm having to run the game at 1280x1024 to get decent (30+) FPS (according to FRAPS) with max settings. If I bump up the resolution to 1900X1200 I get about 5-11FPS :( It's a nice game just a beast on the hardware requirements to play it.

Yeah the patches seem to have improved the performance a bit, but the hardware requirements to actually run the game smoothly are still way too high for how mediocre the graphics actually look.

You know i returned nwn2 and this was like 10 months ago when it was new.

To me it looked just like the first game the graphics were so horrible. Couldnt even give it a chance. And I played the first one and its expansions all the way through.

And the first game years ago the graphics were years behind to start with.

All this improvement is like, just the grass and the sparkles around a bunch of characters and monsters that look like theyre from a playstation.

The story itself isn't that bad, the ending is weak. I personally think Atari forced the game to come sooner then it should have. One of the worse things about the game though are the controls and what the menus look like, and that some of physical character customization isn't that great.

Also that the modding community is having a hard time with it due to the difficult to use tools. Seeing as that was part of the strength of NWN1, yes it turned out to be somewhat of a let down with patches, and a big let down without patching.

I think there was a mod in teh works, but the game itself, nor the upcoming expansion, has any Eberron content, at least that I can tell. Either way it's not in that universe.

Ah, bugger. The Eberron setting is the only one I can stand.

Infact, the only D&D character I have is a Level 5 Rogue / 4 Assassin / 1 Cabinet Trickster Chaotic Neutral Changeling.

    Damn, thats a mouthful.

It actually runs fine at native resolution for me (w/o AA).

I actually really like the game so far. We'll see how long that lasts as I get further along.

it gives my desktops' 8800 gtx a run for its money at 1920x1200, but I think it had as much to do with the game as the drivers for the 8000 series. also, the game has been proven to have stability issues with quad cores. it will keep crashing unless I set it to only use 1-2 cores.

Yea, I read on the official forums that NWN2's engine only supports a single core, which really sucks :p

The NWN2 campaign is definitely a lot more enjoyable than the one from NWN1.

The thing that really pisses me off however (and I can't believe they haven't fixed this in a patch yet), is the AI of your spellcasting party members. They automatically use their AOE spells with no consideration for friendly fire WHATSOEVER. So basically you're stuck with 3 options: 1. turn the difficulty down which disables friendly fire (yuck, game way less fun), 2. turn off the spellcasting ai (boo, now your mages have to all be manually controlled), or 3. let your mages nuke your party to ****.
