The question is can my friend's i3 laptop run NWN2 and if so what settings? I do not know which i3 processor if its the higher or lowend but lets assume a lowend(it is not a ULV). Can anyone give me any idea on this? If you didn't catch the question i am asking can the on-die gpu run it.

I dont think its gonna be a good experience playing with the on die gpu... but its not like the game is that demanding, I suppose he can give it a go?
-
Well it can run on my old Turion X2 with X1250 onboard graphic at minimum res/settings, I think he can also run with probably slightly higher setting (med-min maybe?)
-
I'm gonna guess that he might be able to run it, but poorly. I don't know what's up with NWN2, but my laptop (as in my sig) lags quite a bit playing it at 1680x1050. It appears that the game is quite poorly optimised, or something.

if that's true according to notebookcheck.net database the intel HD GMA is like 3x faster in 3dmark06 so it should run it at least at med settings i think

NWN2 is actually quite demanding, its requirements are on par with Oblivion. I had to tone down the settings on my old G1s to play it with steady framerates.

It's only demanding if you try to crank up the settings. The shadows in particular are murder -- I remember people complaining that you couldn't run it maxed out even on an desktop 9800GTX. As long as you stick to medium settings, an 8600M GT is more than adequate. At low settings, I even managed to get it running on my old laptop with a Mobility Radeon 9700 (although that kind of experience is not for everyone; it could only manage 10-15 FPS). It should work with a Core i3, but you'll have to keep the settings down.

That's it. I played it on my old laptop with an 8600m GT. Keep shadows on med or low and it should work wonders.
NWN2 and an i3?
