    Nation Red won't start after "Preparing to launch Nation Red"

    So I've never been able to play Nation Red. It says "preparing to launch Nation Red..." and then that dialog closes and nothing happens...
    I did everything in this guide: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=6218-USFX-5568 EXCEPT the advanced troubleshooting stuff.
    I updated Windows, all my drivers are up to date, I verified the cache files, I disabled all background apps and services, and I went into the game file and ran all the installers I could find. I even uninstalled AVG and replaced it with MSE because I heard AVG and Steam don't get along very well.
    What could the problem be??

    Okay I had this same exact problem and believe me the solution is so simple you wouldn't think. In my case I had one slightly more complicated problem but try this simple solution and I'm more than sure it will work.

    Go to this link and install Direct X. I know that steam installs this automatically but this solves 99% of the problems.
