Due to the great success of the other 4-pack steam purchase thread, I've decided to pull off one of my own, for a game that interests me! (and hopefully at least two of you)



The first <del>three</del> two people to PM me for my paypal address will get in on this. Pay immediately - no long term slot reservations. I'll gift everything out once the last two slots fill up OR when the prerelease demo comes out, whichever comes FIRST.

$38 / person.

The individual alternative is $45 + tax or whatever the going rate is in your locale. This should be an easy way to save about $10 on L4D2 for a group of 4 of us!

I have never been charged sales tax by STEAM.

 

Ppl in Washington state get taxed.

 

its weird, i could have sworn i have ALWAYS been charged tax by steam, but apparently its not a normal issue.

someone else who doesn't have steam tax could try to do it themselves, but the offer still stands for now!

 

i'm always charged tax by steam. maybe they just dont like canadians

If you were already planning to preorder L4D2 for $45 and want to save an extra $5, this is the way!!!

 

Why $40? The split price should be 33.75.......................
I would do it if you charged the correct split...but your charging 6.25 more (even tax isn't that high) 5% sales tax would be 6.95 total so each person should only pay 33.75 + 1.75. So It should be like 35.50 each (actually a little less if 5% state sales tax)

Unless I am missing something..... if you drop to this price save me a spot.

 

well so far i have tax and paypal taking a cut. i'm just trying to make sure i break even. and sales tax is above 10% where i live.

believe it or not, i'm not interested in making a profit. i just want to make sure it doesn't cost me extra money to save everyone a bit on preordering L4D2.

I mean I would be in if it was a fair split...10+% sales tax? where? even TX is only what like 8.6%? Doesn't matter even at 10% 40 is still to high imo it would be like 36.75 at 10% each.

 

And when i was paid $40 paypal, i received $38 and change. I didn't know what the payment method would be nor how much i would lose for changing money around hands, so I rounded to $40. I also don't know exactly how much tax is going to cost, but it is above 10%.

As it turns out, I am pretty freaking close.

Again, the extra dollars are going into paypal cuts and tax. usapatriot is in for $40, and I am $40 in also. Offer stands at $40 for one or two takers!

If you have 3 friends who want L4D2 on the PC in a tax free state, go round them up and pay $33.75 each. If you have 3 friends who want L4D2 PC in a tax state, go round them up and pay $35-36 each. If you were going to solo preorder L4D2 anyway, do yourself a favor and save some money by teaming up with us to get a 4 pack, and pay $40 dollars towards:

1) the game
2) tax where I live
3) paypal fees for accepting funds

and save money!

To save money, you should have a US buyer from your group purchase the 4-pack. Saving yourself and others the tax. Then gift the copies as usual.

I did this yesterday with Borderlands, and everything went very smooth.

 

i should, but now we just need one more person (although could possibly accept 2).

At this point I just want to maintain my position in charge. I have some seniority here, and I don't want any hiccups making more money transfers than need be. Simpler is better. Next time we will get someone who is tax free to make the purchase.

Nevertheless, I maintain that this is a rocking deal for anyone considering preordering L4D2 solo.

basically, four of us chip in to buy L4D2 from steam at a reduced cost 4 pack.

once we have 4 people, I friend you all on steam, buy the L4D2 4 pack, and gift each of you L4D2.

you need to pay me via paypal beforehand, which requires
1. having (or signing up for) a paypal account
2. handing trust of your money to me

I'm a relatively senior member here, and that is trust enough for some. In general, you should probably be very selective of who you hand your money to, especially over the internet.

With paypal, you can set up an account and pay anyone who has a paypal account with your bank account, credit card, or paypal funds, without the other party getting your bank or cc information. that is basically the point behind paypal.

again, there are only two slots left, they will be gone when they are gone, and that is it. i'm not reserving slots for simplicity's sake.

@ idyllic, i know you probably want to hold out for the ideal deal, but you still save at least twice as much as 'normal' preorderers if you join up, and you'll almost certainly get access to the game earlier, since we are basically a full group already.
