After much flip-flopping, I decided to go back to the go 7800 for my e1705 over the x1400 :) For $50 more, it was too good of a deal to pass up, despite the heat problems and the fact that I'm not a hardcore gamer.

Anyway, I now need your help to justify my purchase. Can you guys recommend some cool 3D games/software that will tap the graphics horsepower of the nvidia? I'd prefer games that task the intellect, plus where I can pace myself over months playing a couple of hours a week or so.

    Thanks much!

Firstly you must remowe dell drivers :) dell underclocked very graphics card (if i'm not wrong core go 7800 in e1705 work at 320 mhz and nvidia specification is 350 mhz :) ) after instaling nvidia drivers u must choose "optimal settings" (or something like that :).

i dont know anything about new games :) i heard good things about Oblivion, it's RPG (have big requiremetns and looks great :)

Test your laptop also in 3Dmark 2005/2006, it also looks great :)

I'll second Oblivion, if you get into it, that'll last you a long time.

Yep, every game I could think of has pretty much been mentioned. Farcry is another good looking game. I've never tried Oblivion, because World of Warcraft takes way too much of my time as it is.

Half Life 2: Episode One is due to come out sometime soon. It will definitely be a buy for me.
