Hi all. I have the same problem as others. Game crashes after a black screen apears. I have intel 915GM graphic card on my notebook. Is it somehow possible to run Carbon on this laptop? Thanks.

I'm having the same problem with the black screen. First few times my system rebooted automatically. Uninstalled, reinstalled. Now I can sit at the black screen for about 5-10 min before I lose my patience and reboot my system. I meet and exceed all requirements, can't figure out what is wrong. I've tried both safe mode and regular with the same results. If anyone has a suggestion that'd be great.

Ok, I think I may have found a temp fix until EA fixes this. I went ahead and ended all non essential processes. Still to no avail. I finally decided to try (and will probably regret) turning off zone alarm and resorting to Window's built in firewall. I don't agree with it any more than anyone else does, but it worked. Went right into the game. And I'm running fairly high FPS considering I have all graphics maxed out. Hope this suggestion helps some of you. I suggest everyone write or contact EA in their own way to make sure a patch is soon released that will allow Zone Alarm to be compatible.

At first I thought that was the problem. I made sure the Zone Alarm wasn't blocking NFS. I went so far as to lower the security settings so it wouldn't block anything to no avail. Only made a difference when it was turned off. I hate having Zone Alarm turned off for any reason, but I'm not about to let $40 go to waste for the game. Also, I know this is unrelated... However, beware of AVG Free version 7.5 I went to install it this morning, hoping that maybe it could be an alternative to Zone Alarm, after restarting the computer for the install I can no longer access Windows. I sit at a black screen unable to do anything (much like NFS). I wasn't having any problems until I tried to install AVG 7.5 so beware, and make sure you have a backup of save game files if you have to reinstall your system. I'm hoping it won't come to that.

Most Wanted is ALOT BETTER than carbon in everything. Carbon was a disappointment, ill stick to MW

    MW > Carbon

Velox and griff theo -- I think you can play around with NFSMW for now. Intel 915GM and 945GM is not on the requirement list. I did some search on google but no help.

Looks like you beat me to the punch Aero. If I'm not mistaken I was one of the first if not the first to post a thread about carbon. I was going to reserect it now that the game is out but I guess I won't now.
    No worries. I don't mind.

    back on topic.
I absolutely loved MW. I am currently working on the tail end of my 8th file(in other words 8th time beating the game). I can't wait until I can get the $42 or so to buy carbon. I hope it is just as exciting as MW was.
I know I'm kind of late in posting this but oh well, I've been preoccupied with school and haven't had a chance to view the gaming section of the forum lately.

i bought the game and installed it. It worked fine when loading up and everything, while i play the game it just automatically quits that game back to the desktop for no reason. Does anyone have this problem and does anyone know how to fix it?

disappointing game. however the down hill battles against the bosses are fun, feels like initial D style, but rest of game just sucks.

also kind of stupid when you're racing a boss and you're 12seconds ahead but they laugh at you went you hit a wall...

I guess its all personal opinion on which version is the best. I liked NFS Underground 2 much better than Most Wanted. I like Carbon better than both of them, particularly for the muscle cars.

    As for these notebook problems:
Make sure any Nforce programs are turned off. Do a cntl/alt/delete and shut down anything that isn't necessary for the operating system.

Also check your page memory and make sure its set to default for your system.

I run AVG 7.5 with no problems, but shut down the control panel so it doesn't start a scan while playing.

Remember that onboard graphics steals memory. The better the onboard video, the more memory it steals. You might not have enough to run the game properly after the graphics uses its share. Right click 'my computer/properties' to see how much is actually available.

    Hope this helps.

Help guys I don't know how to drift in this game! I passed all the stages except the drifting ones---I always slam into a wall and get that dreaded "drift ended" notice---and it's really starting to make me not want to play anymore! Any advice or hints?

Drifting is easier with some cars than others. My advice is to get a Charger RT setup with normal or drifting tires. Its easy if you win the pink slip for the Angie's Charger. Adjust your speed for each corner, hit the hand brake to get the back end sliding, and then feather the throttle to hold your line around the corner. Stay off the nitrous unless you want to pick up speed quickly on a straight away. Good luck. :)

Thanks I'll try that darklife (hey you play CS:S?), although on those "drifting" challenge courses it appears they automatically adjust your car's settings for maximum drift.

My son plays CS and is on a team, but I'm not really interested in shoot-em-up games. :)

I easily beat Darius on the street and passed him in the first 5 corners of the canyon race in all 3 modes. My weapon of choice is the Ford GT for that. Just starting the challenge series. :)

You won`t play it smoothly. Maybe at the lowest possible resolution, but still.
    Nope,not playable.
