i have a lenovo t61p and i have vista business 64 bit. i installed bf2 with the latest patch, tried to connect on an online game and it said something about a "os error". i can play against the computer but not online. any ideas? thanx
*it a puckbuster error saying "inadequate O/S privileges"

I believe BF2 only supports 60hz, and some screens work @59hz under Vista. Google "BF2 60hz vista" and you should find plenty of cases
-
mine says its at 60hz....
-
Try running in admin mode in Windows?
-
how do u do that? lol
-
Your firewall is probably blocking punkbuster. Unlock it, make sure you are on an administrator account.
BF2 works fine on 64bit. -
i dont have a firewall besides the windows firewall and i cant find a way to unblock it...any help?
-
right click on BF2 link, and Run As Administrator.
-
I got BF2 to work in vista by going to the executable file for the game wherever it was installed, most likely EA Games under Program Files, and right clicked and ran as an administrator like Gophn did.
-
thanx guys, ill try it out

BenLeonheart walk in see this wat do?
you dont need to run it as an admin...
what you need to do is edit the file Video.con
under Documents/Battlefield 2/Profiles/Default
theres a small section where it states the resolution...
leave it at 1024x768 since its default
and match the refresh rate with that of your monitor...
mine, for example has a 63hz refresh rate, so i edited the file and it looks like this
VideoSettings.setResolution 1024x768@63Hz
Hope it helps!
EDIT: oh but nvm, you seem to boot the game correctly, sorry, my mistake...
then yes, right click and run as administrator, or even edit the properties so it always runs in admin mode, and XPSP2 compatibility.... -
thanks everything works, i just want to know if there is a way to bypass running everything as administrator. cause alot of my programs that didnt work b4 now work if i run them as administrator, but my account is a administrator account. is there a way to just make everything run as administrator or something?
-
go to user account and turn off user account control
-
