    Need Help. Dead Island having Duplicate CD Key

    Hi Guys,

    Need your help, yesterday I bought a PC CD version of the game which I found to our local legit store. Although I'm sure 100% that the CD has not yet been opened, however when I tried installing it today and provide the CD Key on Steam. It states that my Key is already used and due to that I cannot continue with the Installation. :eek:

    Any ideas into how to resolve this issue? I'm really waiting for this game to come to our local store and now I grab it, it end up having issues like this. :(

    It shouldn't take more than a day or two. Be ready to provide a receipt showing you purchased the game.

    Ohh okay thanks Greg, This is noted. I'll just look for a decent camera right now here in order to capture image of the receipt and my retail copy (including the CD Key).

    Unfortunately it seems to be a pretty common issue with Dead Island. A bunch of exploited keys made the rounds.

    I hope the person who first activated your KEY will be banned/suspended; activating leaked/hacked keys = bad

    They don't. I believe Steam just removes the game from the offenders account.
    I think because alot of people trade for keys.

    Ok I did what you guys have suggested.
    1. Raise a ticket to steam support.
    2. Include all the required details and Images as evidence.
    And now is the waiting part. I just hope they take a look into this request. :(

    Hmmm, not sure if they will help me with my case, but I bought my retail copy as sealed (I am 100% sure it has not been opened). It is just happened that when it was released earlier from our stores, immediately it has been sold out already. So I was lucky to find one copy left from the other store branch.

    I have no problem with our local retailer as they are really selling legit copies of both PC and console games. I just hope that Steam could help me with this cause I really want to play this kind of game and hoping for Left for Dead 3 to come. :(
