Been really bored as of late, waiting on offers after sending out tons of resumes.
In the meantime, I've been doing nothing, taking walks, playing on my DS alot, pretty much it. So I'm looking for something to do while I'm waiting for a job offer, even if one doesn't come, I have summer school classes starting June 25th, so until then.
I've been looking at some games, but I think I'll look for something older so my notebook with an x700 can run it fine.
As mentioned, RPGs/RTS is my preferred game of choice. I've tried Oblvion, didn't like it(don't ask), before anyone recommends that heh. For RPGs, I can't handle first person mode - I'm overly sensitive to FP Modes, so I'll get really sick![]()
The last few games I've enjoyed were C&C2, AoE2, Diablo 2, Warcraft 3, WoW, StarCraft, NVN(I didn't finish it actually, can't find the discs neither...). If possible, a multiplayer option would be awesome, whether its online or on Hamachii/LAN over IP/etc.
Thanks

NVN => NWN ?
A very good strategy game will be Dawn of War.I think you can run it on-med/low settings.
Another impressive game is FreeLancer.
(BTW,do still have that hibernation problem ?) -
u should try knights of the old republic. the first one is kick ars and ran perfect on my x800. so it should run fairly similar to the mr x700
-
Agreed on Dawn of War. Awesome game (especially multiplayer. Singleplayer is only average)
I'm always up for a game, btw
Company of Heroes is great too (but I'm not sure how well it'd run on your system). Imo it has a great singleplayer campaign, but multiplayer isn't as fun as DoW.
edit: Oh yeah, KOTOR is great too. That really surprised me, but it's a great game.
How about Fallout 1 or 2? Every RPG gamer should play those -
Medieval 2 total war is pretty cool. It is not real time but turn based but the battles are real time.
Sparta: Ancient Wars is also really cool. -
Yea, NeverWinter Nights.
Is DoW this?: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pr...angid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10071994&catid=11125
CoH looks interesting, I'll check it out. -
yup sure is
-
Fallout 1 + 2 best RPG's ever... baldurs gate I/II also good, liked it more than NWN, or can try mmo's but i haven't found a good mmo since uo...
-
Yeah it's DoW but make sure you take the Dark Crusade as well, can't miss it
With all the expansions the DoW has 7 races.
To be able to play the 4 original races in multi-player + 1st campaign => Original DoW (included in the Gold)
To be able to play the Imperial Guard race in multi-player + 2nd campaign => Winter Assault (included in the Gold)
To be able to play the 2 newer races Necronsand Tao in multi-player + 3rd campaign => Dark Crusader (not included in the gold)

CoH will run on an x700. I run it on my x300, just not at very high setting at all obviously. But it will run.
Keep in mind you can always try demos to of most games to 1) see if you like them and 2) make a judgment as to how well they will run. -
I'm also quite interested in Titan Quest, any opinions?
-
Totally random events + bosses respawning + stupid save system. -
If you don't mind some older stuff, theres Fallout I and II, Baldur's Gate I and II, and Planescape: Torment.
Those are probably the best rpgs ever. -
Titan Quest is OK. I suggest dungeon siege II. C&C3 or CoH would be my suggestions for RTS.
-
I enjoyed Titan Quest, it reminded me of Diablo II. Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars is a good RTS.
-
These 2 are the best games I've played. I've not enjoyed any other game as much as I did the KOTOR games. The first one is kick ass. The second one has somewhat better gameplay and a bit deeper storyline. However, it is marred somewhat by a rushed/incomplete ending. but is still an awesome game.
I plan on replaying both of them on my 5760. -
There's nothing like finding an emulator and playing old school RPGs. Final Fantasy series, the RTS from Sega (I can't remember for the life of me atm). FF7 and 8 were also available on the PC platform.
SHINING FORCE! Now I remember -
Medieval Total War, Medieval 2 Total War (if your graphics card could support it), Shogun Total War, FF7&8, Grandia 2(or was it 3, i forgot
) Emperor: Rise of the middle kingdom (if you like watching stuff grow and prosper
), oh and for online you could try DOTA since you already liked playing WC3 ^^..download the ggclient here http://www.gg-game.com/ ^^ but be ready for some dissapointments and such coz you'll encounter many rude and vulgar douchebags who think they are the best but are actually noobs
*warning: very addictive..i once thought it was a silly time wasting game but after a few online battles i kinda got hooked (it's my stupid little brother's fault for teaching me how to play it ><)..
-
Baldurs gate I and II are, classics. II was even better than I. If you never played it, get them asap. I heard good things about Midieval, never played it but I plan to buy it. I played BaldursGateII at least 10 times!
Civilizations IV was pretty good too. Turn based game. You build your cities turn by turn, make alliances, or go to war with everyone.
Want an MMO? World of Warcraft. It's crack. You wont be able to stop playing it when you get it. And you cant stop playing it because if you do, you fall behind the gear curve real fast and can't compete as much as you used to in PvP. -
jade empire was a fairly fun game....it's kind of like a more action oriented kotor, but not as good of a story.
-
Crimsonman Ex NBR member
I like Stronghold 2, not really sure of the genre, sort of RTS
-
Star Wars Galaxies
Its more addicting that WOW just less crowded. Also, its easy to get into.
Ive been playing it for 3 years now ans the graphics and game play are still at a high level.
If not, I tried the beta of Lord of the rings online. Its a great game, but not sure how much of a graphics card you need to play it. -
Need a game - RTS/RPG preferred
