What I like:
Civ type turn based games. Im old (LOL 37) so the Real Time stuff tends to out strip my slow internal CPU (ie brain)
But I do like strategy games if the interface is not too complicated and the processing of the computer dosnt outstrip me LOL. I can hang RT if there is a way for me to learn the game on an easy mode, so I can pick up the mechanics first. Basically I like a challenge but not so much that its fustrating.
Like also MORPGS. Played WoW for a couple of years, playing EQ2 now, but looking for a more rich story line. I have Witcher but it never drew me in to play. Oblivion??? Perhaps?
Not too much of a FPS kind of guy, but I noticed that BestBuy dropped the price of BioShock today to 29.99.
My computer is listed below in my sig! Cant wait for the responses.

oh really? darn. I was at bestbuy a couple days ago and bioshock was 49.99
Your computer is great and could play just about anything you could try.
1. WoW
2. Oblivion
You could try some first person shooters like call of duty 4 also -
Looks like you're not into any games with modern lore. I suggest you read some stuff on Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. It seems to fit your tastes and the story line is SO in-depth. There is a reason why Games Workshop sues people like crazy for using their material.
Problem is, you might not like the style of WAR. The lore is very old-school with very generic races. -
The Warhammer MMO unfortunately looks too much like WoW.
I think the next mmo to make waves will be Conan (est. May 20). The promises of a mature, gritty mmo with an engaging combat system has really piqued my interest anyway. I got tired of the gameplay repetitiveness and cartoony look of WoW.
And to the OP, yes- Bioshock and Oblivion are good choices. You'll probably get more replay value out of Oblivion if that's an important criteria for you. -
i heared Tabularasa is a great game, it's a MMORPG set in the future where earth is invaded by an alien race, a break from the fantasy worlds of elves and orcs..

Sins of a Solar Empire is decent. It's less of a spastic click-fest than most others. FWIW, I like it, and I'm not a fan of the RTS genre. There's a demo available.
Also check out matrixgames.com They sell tons of strategy games that cater to an older, more cerebral audience.
Never liked any MMORPGs, so can't comment.
Liked Oblivion, loved Morrowwind. Mods are a must for Oblivion.
Bioshock is awesome, but has no replay value. $29 is a fair price considering. -
OK. Thanks for the recos folks. I DL the World in Conflict Demo and that seems cool. I can buy it from amazon for only 20.00 USD. BioShock for 29.99 gives me almost 2 games for the price of one! Im also trying the Europa Universalis III demo to see if I like that one over WIC.

Download glest.
glest.org
Haven't played in ages but I heard that they just released an online client for it. It's a great, free game. -
World in Conflict is great.
And it is now cheap, the collector comes with a piece of the Berlin wall -
Got the collectors edition off EBay for 15.00 w/ free shipping -New! Now to hunt down a good deal on a new copy of BioShock

i highly recomend HoI2 and the expansions. (same developer as europa universal as someone mentioned before) its a ww2 rts where you however you can pause when ever you need it, and you can take it as easy as you want. i have been playing for the last sever months and its just bloody awesome. there are heaps of mods, both graphical and gameplay that enable you to do give the game enough life for probably 6 months. there are a few dedicated multiplayer groups that have regular multiplayer games (awesome if everyone knows what they are doing).
overall it would be the best value game i have ever got. -
I recommed you try the Sins of a Solar Empire demo, very good strategy game.
-
Another vote for sins of a solar empire. Also of you like turn based games try Galactic Civilizations 2. Has two expansions. One just came out. World In Conflict is an awesome game as well.

Just picked up Sins of a Solar Empire & BioShock at Best Buy today for 29.99 each. I also had $25.00 in RewardZone Certificates so I got out of the store for only 40.15.
So for only 60.00 bucks, I bought, Sins of a Solar Empire, BioShock & World In Conflict. All new legal boxes! I think I made some good buying decisions and have some new games to add to the ole library. -
You could go to www.ign.com and check out the PC game section. Look for the editor's choices or look for the top rated PC games.
Need a game recomendation!
