    Need a good, free, LAN-party type game

    Friends and I wanna throw some computers together and get a lil gamin goin (i wanna try out the new lappy as well), but we're all tired of the games we play. Usually it's starcraft or wolf: enemy territory, but those are old.
    anyone know of some goood, free, downloadable games that are worthy of LAN/internet play?

    Hmmmm, there aren't really many good free ones, unless they are flash/java/browser based, and unless they are Korean/Japanese MMORPGs as well.

    yea we were gunbound crazy for a bit, but what about warrock? i saw some other people talkin about it, is it any good? whats it like compared it with bf2 (keep in mind its free)?

    I play Warrock and I must say that it good
    It good and BF2 is good
    Warrock is free, feel like BF2 to me, you can run, sprin, crouch, crawl, roll
    You have 5 kind of char like combattan, medic, scout,engineer, heavyweapon
    You got lot of guns by playing >>> get money >>> buy em
    You got lot of vehicles like tanks, humvee and helicopter and air fighter yeah right
    Server is good for now, it open beta now, got both setting for high and low end PC.
    So try it, like me

    If u ask me, I am mad bout BF2. Been playing a lot 2 get myself promoted. Also, STeam games r pretty fun. E.g. CS:S, HL2 Deathmath DOD:S etc. etc.

    Definately. Americas Army is top quality, as is WarRock - the open Beta for Warrock is starting very soon actually. I prefer BF2 but lets be frank here, BF2 is a 30 dollar game, WarRock is free, so its amazing that WarRock manages to be so good!

    And it runs nice on older systems.....unlike BF2.

    I have thrown multiple lan parties at my high school and america's army is near the top of the list of games after bf2 and ut2004. I highly suggest it and its a lot fun!

    yeah any UT game is the best LAN game you can play. granted Id love to play a 32/32 bf2 lan...but my 1 bedroom apt cant hold more then 5 people.

    Starcraft
    I know its old and its not the most fancy looking game, but honestly when all my friends get together we play games like counter striker source for a little while, then unreal tourny for a bit, and a few others but we always end up playing Starcraft until the sun comes up. I find it amusing that a game that came out in 1998 is still being sold at best buy, wal-mart. . . . great game one of my favorites
