I'm wondering whether this laptop would run Medieval 2: Total war. I really want to play this game and I want to make sure that the laptop i get can run it (without lag). Since I don't have much technical expertise on these things I was hoping that someone from here could answer whether the game would run on this computer I'm planning on getting. Here are the specs of the computer and the minimum system requirements for medieval 2: total war below it.

-Genuine Windows Vista Home Basic (32-bit)
    -Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor T7300 (2.00 GHz, 4 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
    -15.4" WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800)
    -2GB DDR2 (2 Dimm)!!
    -383MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
    -Networking Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
-Hard Drive 80GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
-Primary CD/DVD Drive SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer Support
-Primary Battery 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery

Medieval 2: Total war minimum system requirements

    1.5 GHz Processor
    512 MB RAM
    8 GB Hard disk space
    128 MB Graphics card
    Windows 2K/ME/XP/Vista

Definitely. The dv6500t's 8400M GS can run almost any modern game without a problem at lower settings. You won't have the best graphics experience, but it definitely will play it.

Thnx for the info... This was the best laptop I found for the price, it costs about 1,100. I'm willing to spend up to 1,500. Is there another laptop I could get that would be able to run the game at higher settings? Oh... and is the Nvidia geforce 8400M GS have discreet or shared graphics? I hear that's important.

By the way, Ark, I recommend an upgrade to Vista Home Premium.

to find your best buy, i would go to the "what notebook should i buy section" and fill out the faq.

I would say that you would be able to find a better one though.

well, I found a better laptop... the vostro 1500. My budget will allow it. Here are the specs I've chosen for it... I chose Windows XP instead of Vista becuse I know that Vista sucks up a lot of Ram.

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7100 (1.8GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB), English
Genuine Windows XP Home Edition, SP2, English
15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA LCD Display
1.5GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz, 2 Dimm
    80G 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
24X CD Burner/DVD Combo Drive, without Roxio Creator
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8600M GT
    Dell Wireless 1390 802.11g Wi-Fi Mini Card
    High Definition Audio 2.0

Will this laptop run Medieval 2: total war at higher settings? I don't know if the processor on this be sufficient enough. Oh and please tell me if you see anything that could go wrong with this laptop.
