Need expertise here re: Nvidia NVLDDMKD.SYS BSOD errors.....

Hello everyone. Long time no "Talk".
Haven't been here on this board in many years.

I have been getting dozens of Nvida-based error messages that are in the form of a .SYS error,
and I have no idea why this is happening.
The error message that I seen every single time I game with my Nvidia 1070m GPU is:
"NVLDDMKM.SYS" error, which causes a BSOD.
I can no longer game on my Sager Laptop, and the OEM Laptop people say that it's the 1070 GPU
that is dying, but I don't believe them.
They say that my Nvidia 1070 GPU is dying, and want me to replace it, which is out of warranty,
and will cost me $700 to get it and the Motherboard replaced.

Anyone here also get these .SYS error messages?
Is this s a Software or Hardware issue?
What do you do about them, and what can be done to fix them without buying a new Motherboard?

My Laptop is 2.5 years old.

I'd recommend using DDU to wipe out existing nvidia driver and install vulkan developer driver https://github.com/CHEF-KOCH/nVidia-modded-Inf/releases/download/425.62/NVIDIA.425.62.Vulkan.exe
The above is repacked nvidia driver w/o GFE and telemetry.

 

My guess is it's a hardware problem, although if something is seriously wrong with the OS (such as OS files or graphic files are damaged/corrupted/deleted), then I guess it could be software related.

If I were you, the first thing I would do is, install MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision or whatever people use now for GPU monitoring/overclocking.
Try to either increase voltages or reduce clock frequency or both.
I don't know how to over-volt vram, so instead, lower the vram frequency (underclock the video memory).
If the problem still persists, then either incrrease gpu voltage or lower the gpu frequency (jn Afterburner).

Did you ever set up a voltage/frequency curve for your GTX 1070m?
This is a very useful feature that few people talk about or even know about.

I use the voltage/frequency curve to undervolt/underclock my laptop's GTX 1050. It does a fantastic job at reducing heat and temperature.

For the past 3 months ago I was having that error from time to time but not to the extent that prevented me from playing games..I then decided to re-paste and re-pad my unit and everything went good. Never seen that error again!
