    Need for SPeed beta slow

    I'm getting an almost constant 20-22fps excepet when I first start the game. Then I got 60 for awhile then 30-40 then 20.
    Machine specs in sig
    I'm running the game on max settings at 1440*900

    The game doesn't appear to look all that good, in fact I was disappointed having just come from some other racing game. So I have trouble believing my hardware is inadequet.
