    Need for speed shirft lag?

    When I play I occasionally get lag when there is a major crash or shen turning in corners. What could cause this? Even when I turn all the settings completely low i get this lag. I have a the 160M nvidia card and a 2.66 ghz cpu.

    Check your drivers and make sure they are the latest one i.e 186.8x.
    Also try turning off some effects. Maybe you have some effects on high.
    Check for background applications consuming your system like antivirus,disk defrag or any thing.

    Try changing the affinity (in task manager) to something higher than normal

    Turn off the Vsync and reduce also the shadow and track details on medium. All other could be set on high. I'm playing this on MSI GX620x with GeForce 9600m GT with no problems on 1680x1050.
