Hey guys,
so, the game is out... anybody tried it yet? im really looking forward to it but most of the game reviewing sites gave the game under 6/10 rating, so id like to know what you guys think about it..
-
I'm really curious about this one as well, after playing GRiD, don't trust EA much anymore
-
IGN gave Under Cover 4.
I saw some of the screenshots and was very disappointed afterward. The cars looks just like toys, too much blur, the ligting is way too bright. -

I cannot get excited for Undercover. It's nothing but a brown and grey indestructible Matchbox car play set littered with babes, cars, and cliche characters in a shallow, limited, and unfinished game world ready to be whored out with expansions, parts packs, micro-transactions, and DLC. Sorry to be harsh, but that's the way I see it. The screenshots, videos, and gameplay I've seen aren't just underwhelming, they absolutely turn me away or make me cringe that such a product was released. This is before I tack on EA's negative reputation.
I loved Hot Pursuit, particularly when everyone (including the AI) has custom cars. I also loved Hot Pursuit 2 on the PS2 since it was the most polished version of that game. I enjoyed Most Wanted, although it did seem short, repetitive, and severely lacking replayability. Unfortunately, if Most Wanted were akin to Sim City 4, then Undercover is akin to Sim City Societies -- an abomination attempting to associate itself with other successful titles to make itself look like something it can't live up to. -
I got it yesterday.. expect disappointment.. I haven t beat the whole game but people claim there are only 3 videos but in general I prefer pro street to it >.< yes I said it.

I got the game yesterday, it sucks.
The graphics is awful. It doesnot even look good like NFS MW.
As well as you dont have any option to go to garage like in MW and Carbon.
You will be on the street all the time. -
so, Prostreet isnt the series Blacksheep anymore
it will arrive tomorrow for me, gonna get some screens up
-
It's really that bad?
-
Well since buying Crysis warhead I've sworn off buying anything published by EA. This game was both published and developed by EA so I think that's pretty much all I need to know.
I would like to see some maxed out screens though. NFS really died off after NFSMW didn't it? Carbon was actually pretty decent, and I have that game on my shelf, but really the last GOOD one was most wanted..
EA has really killed it's self hasn't it? I think they've become so uptight about pleasing the stock holders that they aren't willing to take any risks, or time to actually develope something good anymore. Thier publishing antics by slapping obtrusive DRM on everything is also really killing them. -
-
Dead Space xD (only published i think?)
-
-
the worst part of the game is that all the streets seem to be like a 1km wide lane.
-
It's really sad for such a great series to be ended like this.. I can't believe this is really need for speed that everybody used to wait for . There is no story line...just a few videos they put that don't make any sense!!! The graphic looks outdated !! Even the music sucks .
Every time I force myself to play it I say to myself maybe it will get better if I win this race but it's the same !!! I end up playing less than 10 min then close it. Very disappointed !! -
Am I the only one that can get far better looking graphics or the ever so great pro street?
-
Graphics looks better than Prostreet ofcourse, Prostreet was trash
but i think the game has some performance issues, i saw people with HD 4870 getting like 30 FPS maxed 1600x1200 4xaa
-
-
Hmmm played it for 30 mins then quit, I'm just not feeling the game.
Plus I can't help but think that Most Wanted looks better then this.
Another flop by EA, how suprising -
no, man, mw does not look better, at least the cars don't. much more details on them. i agree, however, that the game is too bright. car handling is different, the car swings a lot - gotta be really gentle with the keys. Don't really like the turns, except for the hand-break that can do some magic
i kinda enjoy the highway clashes - gotta be really good with timing.
-
lol when taking turns or doing 360's, the person in the car doesn't even move/turn the stearing wheel
..
little things, little things.. -

I get 50-60 fps in everything full like full AA,1920X1200 with all setting in high as possible in Geforce 8800m gtx sli.
The game sucks. In simple, dont waste ur money.
No story, no 2008 graphics and no good gameplay..
EA sucks in this.
I wud rather play MW again. -
-
Well, EA ripped me for another $43- This game is so lame, absolutely nothing good about it. It just sucks sooo bad! Why can't these idiots do a MW clone? The cars handle like crap, the game is to bright, the sound is non existent, way too easy gameplay. Save your money, I wish I would've waited to read the reviews to save mine.
I figure EA owes me for Undercover, Pro street, and carbon. I will never blindly trust EA on any game title ever. Bunch of rip off idiots!! - oh yeah, one more thing, this game is buggy as hell, the cursor disappears on the opening screen so you cant even tweak the options menu, that's your opening experience to this piece of crap! -
last nfs game i bought was MW but i think the best was underground 2.
-
I think we should all stop buying EA games for a year and they ll quickly get their act together and stop making crap and sell it for $50
-
The best NFS game for me was NFS: Porsche Unleashed... I didn't really like any of the "street racing" types like Underground 1, 2, Carbon or ProStreet... I loved the enviroment of Unleashed, remember loving each new "map" i unlocked...
-
I used to love NFS games. When I the first Hot Pursuit came out. I use to play it alot ALOT!
I even played the Home track blindfolded, and was able to finish it in second place, with no accidents. lol
Those were the days of good ol NFS games. For me the NFS series died after Underground 1.
Now its just a cash cow. just like shrek 2 & 3 -
-
It is disappointing (game not optimised, races sometimes too easy) but I still find it (the cop chases are much more fun than Carbon, intense highway battles and driving around the huge open world) quite fun...
I'm playing it on all high settings no AA at 1680x1050 (except shadows turned off) pretty smoothly here (never drops below 35fps) and it doesn't look that bad imo (even though there are too much HDR but it doesn't really disturb me). After reading/watching a few of the reviews and playing the game for more than 6 hours it seems only this gamespot review share the same opinion as me.
Oh well, just sharing my 2 cents...
EDIT: just played a few more cop chases with my Dodge Viper and I have to point out that in the review the guy said he never saw a spike set up in the whole game but I've just came across 6 or more spikes when I got them chasing me...lolThey actually put the spikes in front of one of their cars in undercover so the spikes are harder to notice than the previous nfs.

no offense on you, but that screen looks worse than Need for speed 3...
i'm installing now anyways , nearly 100% done. hope that the game wont make me vomit -
-
lol now that you mention it it does actually look kinda bad...>_< Maybe it's because of all the action and my car is always moving fast with all the blur so it didn't look that bad before.
Although I thought the car itself looks alright in these ones...o.o

The graphics settings never save, so each time i load up the game it starts up at like 800x600 looking like a 1997 psx game :/
Anyway to fix this ? -

Undercover now has the dubious honor of being the first video game I uninstall less than an hour after installation.
Such a pitiful excuse. -
c'mon now, peeps. i bet ea will come out with a patch pretty soon. i had some lags on my config, but after getting a different nfs.exe it played a lot better.
-
Wow, so GRiD is still king!
I knew it -
Best NFS title in terms of graphics and gameplay is Most Wanted IMO. Underground 2 and Carbon are close second, but NFSMW is my favorite. It was actually fun and the graphics were very good for its time of release. Pro Street was a disappointment and by the looks of it, this one is going to be too. I guess I'm going to be a GTR/WTCC guy.
-
I really don't want to play this game, I have almost always finished every game that I purchased, but this one I just want to skip the game and play with the cars for an hour or so, then store it in a cabinet and let it collect dust.
Come on EA *** happened to you. Bring back Hot Pursuit series, BUT be sure to put some serious thought into the gameplay and have top notch graphics.
I know I'm dreaming. lol
Does anyone wanna share 'save game' profile? -
The new Need for Speed is probably like most racing games, great graphics & speed, but limited gameplay. I think the limited gameplay of a racing game is the only reason it's rating is low.
-
-
-
Is Grid really that good? MW and Carbon are my favorites.
-
TDC:
Grid
NFS HP2
NFS UG/UG2
Dirt
NFS Carbon
BDC:
Pro Street and Undercover -
GRID is still my favourite racing game. It is so realistic in driving. It's so much better to play with a racing wheel because it gives you the real feeling of racing.

-
Why is EA hellbent on screwing up NFS?? Looks like every new NFS is worse than its predecessor.
-
When Black Box started to develop games they went into a whole another direction. Going from exotics to ricers. They could've started another series and left exotic racing to NFS.
Game - Developer
Undercover - EA Black Box
ProStreet - EA Black Box
Carbon - EA Black Box
Most Wanted - EA Black Box
UnderGround 2 - EA Black Box
UnderGround - EA Black Box
Hot Pursuit 2 - EA Canada & Black Box (This was the first game developed by EA Canada and Black Box)
Porsche Unleashed - EA Canada
High Stakes - EA Canada
Hot Pursuit - EA Canada
Need for Speed II - EA Canada
Need for Speed - EA Canada
