Well, just because I posted about it in another thread, how about Serious Sam? It's a shoot-em-up first person game that's been well-reviewed, and should work on your gear. The play is a little simplistic (see bad guy = shoot bad guy), but they manage to make it fun and challenging the whole way through.
Hmm...other good old FPS...
Red Faction was a bit dumb and short, but fun anyway.
Of course, there's Half-life, and associated mods.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein is theoretically supposed to work on your system. I had it "working" on a Pentium II 233Mhz once upon a time, with everything turned down to minimum, so a PIII should run it without too much sweat.
No idea what kind of graphics that box has, and I'm too lazy to look it up, so I can't comment there. -
You should be able to get along with many RTS games. How about something like Rise of Nations?

If you have internet I would highly reccomend counterstrike (part of the halflife 1 package). Its probably the most played first person shooter to date and will run fine on your system.
The only thing is its online only (you could play with bots but that will get boring), and you get it by downloading steam at www.steampowered.com and buying it online at fairly cheap price. Even 5 or so years since initial release and its still by far the most played game ever.
With halflife 1 you can also download a lot of great mods that unlike most games are highly developed games in their own right and very enjoyable with large regular player-base. My favs are cs, tfc and natural selection and have played them regularly since release.
As far as new games go I think you're out of luck in the fps dept as most are very demanding even for new systems. -
I'm a big MAME fan myself. Tons of games available, never gets old. Playing foriegn games is a blast!! What's also cool about it is that you could set it up with little impact to your system. I downloaded KnoppixMAME (Linux based, 'Live CD'...boots from the CD-ROM) and then used UltraISO to add the ROMs to the disk image before burning. So I have a CD that I can boot from that has about 120 ROMs and I can play on just about any machine.
Also a big fan of RTS (Command and Conquer, Tropico, etc.) They should also work fine for you. Worse comes to worse, you could also download/play Java or Shockwave games.
Need game ideas
