im not too good with computers, so i would appreciate it if someone could help me out with my x205-9349 crashing/freezing when playing battlefield 2. i looked around and tried to research on it, but like i said, i aint too good with this stuff. i did find out battlefield 2 seems to be a crashy game. mostly problems with the monitor refresh rates. i dont think i have that problem since my monitor refresh rate is at 60 hz. anyway the game usually runs fine until when the round ends and the new round begins. after loading the map and all that, it freezes/crashes when it says "verifying account" or whatever it is, which is right before the "join game" button appears. sometimes it'll go to the blue screen, sometimes it freezes so i have to power it down by holding down on the power button. pissin me off of course, since i just bought the toshiba x205 so its brand new. wut could the problem be? the game runs fine in the first round, but crashes after loading the next?

i believe i have the same laptop as you (if it has the 8700m GT ddr3) and i had not too many problems with the game compared to other computers i have played it on. i have run into problems concerning certain specific maps that will cause the game to crash before -- is there a specific map that is making it crash? if so, try different settings .. for example when playing tf2 i cannot play 2fort map in fullscreen because it will crash so i play it in window mode and it never crashes.

i do however get bf2 crashing if i do not have my settings good. i had to try numerous variations of video settings before the game would actually not crash. finally i got it to work.

i hope you can find some resolution with this issue.

I would recommend updating your drivers to one of the newer 163.xx forceware releases at LaptopVideo2Go.com.

If I may say something, I think BF2 is just very tempermental. It ran flawlessly for me in XP, but in Vista, I have a lot of stability issues with it, even with the latest drivers/hotfixes for Vista.
Reminds me of an old game I have, that just doesn't want to run on Vista, for no apparent reason. :(
Even the latest application compatibility and reliability patch for Vista from Microsoft (which even lists BF2 Deluxe as fixed, the version I have) and latest patch, it still doesn't run right.
