Hey all! I have a new Dell Inspiron 1520 with the 8600M GT and I am having trouble with Doom 3. I have read tutorials and what not on how to get it to work but I have had zero luck so far. I have updated my Doom 3 game and I have made an attempt at downloading a driver from laptopvideo2go.com (though I'm not sure it worked).

Has anyone else had problems with this and figured out how to get it to work?

    Here's the error:
Thanks a bunch in advance fellas!

    couldn't exec DoomConfig.cfg
    couldn't exec autoexec.cfg

Sounds like a corrupt install to me.

A corrupt install doesn't mean a corrupt disc. You could just reinstall from the discs you already have.

Fixing it yourself is not recommended, unless of course you are an ID developer.

It sounds like a corrupt install - not necessarily from a bad disk, but maybe some other program was interfering with the install process or something. It might be as simple as just reinstalling the game. Also (if you're not already), choose "Run as Admnistrator" when you try to launch the game, or if you reinstall, run the install as administrator.
