I like playing games on my lappy, mainly just Civilisation IV type games, nothing too fast paced or huge.

Am tossing up between Dell Studio 15 ( graphic card: 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4570 ) and the Dell Latitude E5400 ( graphic card: Intel® 4500MHD Graphics Accelerator).

What is the difference? Which is better? I have no clue!!

    Cheers
    Caz

The Dell studio 15 is MUCH MUCH better than that dell latitude in graphics card. Since the 4500mhd graphics accelerator is not really a graphics card and it's integrated. The Ati one is dedicated and is in like mid range section. You will have no problems with Civ. 4 type games. Also, Which Dell Studio 15 are you buying?

If you're playing Civ 4 and its expansions the GPU on the Studio 15 is fine, but get the best possible CPU you can since the game likes CPU power and will run smoother with a more powerful CPU, particularly if you like big maps with lots of civilizations.

Thanks :) I am looking at the Dell Studio 15 with Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.40GHz/ 1066 FSB/ 3MB Cache) - good deal on here in Aus. at the moment and seems to have everything I want - except for a pointing stick which I'm going to have to live without!

The Latitudes are not really meant for games.

If the pointing stick is important, and you want a very-well built laptop, get the Dell Precision M4400. It isn't cheap though!
