Im really new to notebook scene and I'm trying to learn everything I can about gpu's and such... With the sli configuration, which is 2 of the same graphic cards working toghether, is it possible to buy a notebook with just one 512 mb graphic card and add the other later to make a sli config or am I compltely wrong. Just trying to figure things out before i drop 2k on notebook.

It depends on the notebook. If you're buying a notebook with two MXM slots supporting SLI, then it should be possible to purchase one aftermarket. Which laptop are you looking at?

Not just any notebook supports SLI - there are only a select few. At the moment, that consists of four notebooks:
    -Toshiba X205 SLI version
    -Alienware M9750
    -Clevo D900C (Sager NP9261)
    -Dell XPS M1730

Adding video cards is tricky. It is certainly possible with an SLI notebook although the GPU might be specific to the notebook. There is no standard like there is for desktops - manufacturers even modify the MXM standard. So my advice is to buy the notebook with the GPU(s) you want and don't ever plan on adding anything. It most likely won't happen.
