Well, college started about a month and a half ago, and I thought I'd have a lot time playing story-based games and/or games like Total War games, but I was wrong. I only get little bits and pieces of time, so I need some suggestions of some games that are NOT story-based. Or, they can be story-based but they must have non-story based opportunities like the "Terrorist Hunt" in Rainbow Six Vegas or Non-Campaign battles in strategy games. As long as the game is not flight or sports related, it's fine. No strategy game unless it's REALLY good.
I have played...
Age of ____ series
All Blizzard games
Rainbow Six series
Splinter Cell series
Bioshock
Total War series
Grand Theft Auto series
Fable Lost Chapters
Sims series
Tycoon series
That's pretty much it.
Thanks a bunch!

The Orange Box? Quick to get in and out of, story isn't terribly deep and an overall great gaming experience.

Portal is a blast - much better than I thought it'd be. Too bad it's so short. Team Fortress 2 is better than I could have hoped. Man it's fun.
My favorite game in college was "chase the skirts." I didn't score very often but it was still fun.

Orange Box would be my vote as well. I'm a college student too (but found time to beat Bioshock and FEAR, go figure). Portal was amazing, HL2 is also.. amazing, and neither are extremely story heavy. TF2 is also loads of fun and easy to hop into for a couple rounds.
EDIT: I'm also a Wooten fan and can play Amazing Grace. I've been working on classical thump for half a year sporadically, but I can't past the 4th or 5th part yet haha.

I sucked at the first Half Life game, and that has left me with a traumatic experience so I avoid FPS games as much as possible (but Rainbow Six pulled me back into it)... But I will check out Team Fortress 2. Is TF2 one of those games that have mini games like capture the flag or assassination and stuff in it? If not, what are some games with that kind of stuff (aside from Unreal Tournaments)? -

Company of Heroes is an excellent one if you love RTS.
Must have, including the Dawn of War series.
HMm, Command And Conquer 3 is good, but not as much tactics as Company of Heroes. -
BF2 or BF2142??
-
guitar hero 3
-
Agreed, Company of Heroes is a stellar game and should not be missed. -
C&C 3 is good for quick skirmishes. Company of Heroes can take a LONG time to play just one mission. Great game, but it can be quite involved.

definitely call of duty 1 and 2. You can pick up 1 for $9.99 at walmart and 2 at best buy for $19.99....well worth the money though

I'm waiting for a game as good as Deus Ex was.
I'm saving HL2 & Bioshock for when I am stuck at the South Pole this winter.
And I've met Victor a couple of times. Very nice guy. Sometimes when he's on riffs, slapping body and neck, the bass hovers in the air. he's a genius of the instrument. -
I'm not a real big fan of UT either, and this isn't as crazy/fast. I think the orange box is the best thing on the market right now. enjoy! My steam ID is TheSinisterMinister if you want to play together
Need new game
