I'm currently at a complete standstill of games to play. I was playing oblivion but it kept crashing on my randomly, and also had horrible performance in windows 7 rc. So i stopped it. I found my old disc and reinstalled it then got my mods which used to work perfectly on windows xp and tried it out but it stopped working so i said oh well. Anyway i'm looking for suggestions of games to play.
Any RPG/RTS/Puzzle game is greatly appreciated. Just really bored with games atm and looking for a new one to play. Infinite Undiscovery's putting a sour taste in my mouth with the extreme difficulty on normal mode.

Mass effect, company of heroes gold, either titan quest or sacred2 fallen angel (see my sig for reviews) and keep you eyes open for dragon age origins when its released later this year.
-
Hmm... you could try Plants vs. Zombies, or World of Goo (see links). They're more geared to be on the funny, whimsical side, but they are a blast to play nontheless.

Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium wars
Command and Conquer 3:Kanes Wrath
Command and Conquer Red Alert 3
Sins of a Solar Empire
Supreme Commander
Supreme Commander FA
Those are all RTS games though the only RPG games I can think of are Fallout 3 and Oblivion -
Portal; brilliant and unique but rather short game. Also give KotOR a try if you haven't already.
-
My recommend...
Fable: The Lost Chapters
Art of Murder:FBI Confidential
Prototype
X-Blades
Mage Knight Apocalypse
If you need REALLY DIFFICULT GAMES than you can try Hacker Game...
Hacker Evolution
And
Street Hacker
Hope you enjoy... -
Fable!! also Mass Effect and The Witcher.
-
PORTAL - only puzzle game you will ever need
mass effect, kotor for rpg
red alert 3 for rts if you like fast paced and funny -
well i've already tried portal couldn't get past it on the 360 i was stuck like 4 levels before the end. Tried fable, trien too. The rest i'll go check them out
. Hopefully they all look good.
it's end of sememster so i need to have something ready to reward myself for the hard work this school year and i figure buying a couple good games'll be reward enough.

my favorite is crysis.
-
Edit: please note the sarcasm in the question. -
Crysis is a first person shooter game (FPS).
I would recommend Trine, its simple and fun game. If you have an Nvidia card with a PhysX chip, it will take advantage of it. -
Also, give Planescape: Torment a try. Quite possibly one of the best written RPGs you are likely to encounter.
Another game I'd highly recommend is System Shock. I know it doesn't fit any genre you requested, but it is good enough to warrant at least giving it a trial run. -
Overlord 2 for the puzzle genre with action elements.

Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
I played part 1 and thought it was decent how much of an improvement is the second one?
-
Some features taken away (no arena and smelters) and some new features included (mounted minions), the humour is still there from the little I've played so far.

Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
Thats good about the humor, this was a very funny game. I saw one of the "scenes" In overlord 2 and it looked interesting

Another vote for Witcher: Enhanced Edition.

Another vote for Witcher: Enhanced Edition.
That is a seriously amazing epic RPG. -
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
RPG - Fallout 3, Witcher, Mass Effect
RTS - Dawn of War 1, Red Alert 3, World in Conflict, Empire Total War (<-- EPIC O.O)
Puzzle - Portal (and Portal Prelude Mod), Trine, Braid, World of Goo -
OP mentioned he played Portal on the Xbox.. man you should seriously play it on computer that game would blow chunks trying to get through it with a controller!

Thus far it seems The Withcer Enhanced, Command and conquer 3, overlord 2, gonna retry portal, and the rest iv'e seen on here i'll look at after those. -
Give RA3 a try, I liked it a bit more than CnC3, in part due to it's smaller scale so depends on your tastes I guess
Oblivion is the current RPG I'm playing and it's pretty fun, it sucks that it broke on your machine
Overlord 2 is pretty fun but I got stuck at a few points but that's just me (need new brain)

Just to say this much i really don't like the withcher's control scheme. I selected keyboard+mouse. And it's forcing me to hold my mouse over the person to be able to attack them. I care not for that kind of attacks. I like to aim and attack with a key. There seems to be no way to fix this obvious annoyance. And since there is not... i doubt i'll ever get through it. Sad really since the storytelling so far is amazing but teh controls are driving me insane.
Need some new PC RPG/RTS/Puzzle games to play
