    Hey folks,

Looking for a few suggestions. I have some ideas in mind, but I'm looking for a thin 13 (or 15) inch laptop that is a respectable gaming system. Would be used for playing both low and high end requirement games. Something in the 310m class would be OK for me if it were in a 13" chassis.

I'm looking for something around an inch or less in thickness. Something along the lines of an HP Envy 13 or 15, A 15" Macbook pro (8600GT), etc. A multi-touch trackpad is a must, as I do a lot of PDF viewing.

I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

HP Envy w/ HD 5830 is probably your best bet for a thin laptop with powerful GPU.

High end wold probably look at minimum a GTS360, GTX260 or HD4870.

Like person said above, I can't think of a thinner laptop with the beastly components the Envy 15" has, it will blow away any MacBook Pro easily.

Cost isn't a big factor in determining model selection, if his main priority is gaming and <1" thickness, since with that criteria, the number of notebooks is countable on one hand.

Looks like single finger digit to me, the HP Envy.

Keep that single digit to yourself! :)

Yeah, I think the Envy 15 is where it's at as well. Thanks for the suggestions and reaffirmation!

I love my Envy ;) Only other relatively thin 15" you might look at is the MSI GX640 that's coming soon.

Envy 1.05" thick, closer to 5 pounds
MSI GX640 1.06"-->1.22" thick at thickest point, closer to 6 pounds

    Envy 5830 GDDR3
    GX640 5850 GDDR5 (!)

    Envy - more understated/professional looking
GX640 - a bit more flashy with the red, though the brushed aluminum is nice

I'd pick between those two, at least of what's out right now.

i'd say envy 15 or MSI GX640 but as far as gaming and upgradability goes , MSI GX640 will be ur best bet.. i also expect it to run cooler and faster than the envy 15.

I liked the Envy myself, however I didn't like the Angle Restrictions of the LCD, I generally have my screen at a pretty high obtuse angle (Greater then 90)
