Not really a novel concept, but since nobody patented it, I guess they can and will. I think it's a great idea. I don't know how many times I've played a game only to quit halfway through because I couldn't get past section X.
Of course a large contributor to that are checkpoint saves. Having the option to quick save and save anywhere helps get around that stuff.
But I'm all for it if they want to include the feature in the game. I want to enjoy my games, not get frustrated and stuck, never able to complete it.

This might appeal to some...
Its a really nice concept...
But, I'm a sad gamer sometimes, I'm capable of restarting the game just to get past anything or if I missed something...
Quicksaving owns though.
Quicksaving should be made for real life, like... flunk a test? F9 (quickload). -
I find people rely FAR too much on walkthroughs and "hints" these days. What's the point of playing the game?
I still remember being stuck trying to find the entrance to the Zora home in Ocarina of Time for two weeks. It's just so much more satisfying when you figure out what to yourself, as opposed to just looking it up and going "ugh, why didn't I think of that?"
Hints are like heroin. -
'Hey guys I just got this 50$ movie from gamestop!'
kidding aside, I'm sure that this will help a lot of people, as games should never be frustrating and some just game to chill. But others are pretty hardcore about not using walkthroughs and really enjoy the challenges.
I am in the middle. I never use walkthroughs on my first playthrough but sometimes use one on subsequent playthroughs to see if I missed anything. I also play through things are the hardest difficulty the first time whenever I can (Deadspace on hard and then impossible = ouch). -

I got stuck in the Fire Temple in OoT for some reason over the most trivial of things, I dont even think it was supposed to be a puzzle but it took me like 2 hours to find/open something.
What I do is play a game 100% myself first time through, if you dont you ruin the main point of the game (well especially so for RPG games) after that on the 2nd time through then I will look up all the cool hidden ultimate techniqes/weapons, hidden characters. Stuff like that so I can really enjoy the game 2nd time through.
Its amazing, I played through Chrono Trigger like 30x+ and just not that many years ago some online guide had a hidden room with Magus's best weapon in the game that I never knew about and even the official strat guide and other guides from back in the day did not mention it.
Talking about old RPG games always makes me feel nostalgic, the SNES ones are easy to emulate but one of the best of all time was actually on PlayStation. A game called XenoGears. -

Xenogears was great I liked Chrono Cross
-
This will make kids buy the game, jump around in it and then give it abd reviews stating "It was boring. No storyline"
-
i like using walkthroughs especially in some rpg games so i know i dont miss anything and so i know i always stay the best and have the best stuff 4 my level. Sux to be a gimp
-
Why don't they just sell a walkthrough book with the game.
Having movies in the game to "babysit" and "lead" you through the game is largely pointless imo.
And how are Nintendo gonna find the space on their DS games? They're on a cartridge, which as I understand it has less space than a DVD!
Never get stuck in a game again - according to Nintendo
